unfortunately, there is nothing in the tutorials for getting started about Vegas Effects

I am more concerned with Vegas Effects than Hit Film. Unfortunately, so far I have the impression that they released something where only the creators know how to use it

I try exploring it by myself and probably it's quite difficult to understand the workflow in the beginning...

But I can say this: one main difference between Vegas Pro and Vegas Effects is: in VEGAS Pro you are more focus to timeline and sequencing, while in VEGAS Effects, depends on what you want to achieve, will focus more on composition, do tracking, adding effects, adding layers, adding 'adjustment layer' etc.

HitFilm Express / Pro combines 'Editor timeline' and 'Composition timeline' into one application, and in order to watch the FXHome's tutorial, you can assume their 'Editor timeline' is Vegas Pro's, while 'Compositing timeline' is VEGAS Effects'.

VEGAS Effects still far from the industry standards

They missing 2 most important stuff as compositing software, A rotoscoping tools (Mocha) and 3D tracker (Foundry tracker)

Most of the time client will request a graphics/VFX that most likely gonna involved with roto & 3D tracking.

VEGAS Team/Magix need to get licenses somehow from Mocha & Foundry in order to have these 2 applications built in VEGAS Effects

 A rotoscoping tools (Mocha) and 3D tracker (Foundry tracker)

HitFilm possibly, but not sure about the Mocha rotoscoping aspect with HitFilm's basic Mocha. In asking this, I take into account that Mocha Pro is sold by BorisFX as an 'extra' to add on for a price to many of the industry's standard NLEs.

Im talking about Compositing software, not NLE.

After Effects have its own rotoscoping tools which work very, very well. Like spot on. It also have 3D tracker from Foundry as well which work great too. You only pay around 120USD a month for adobe whole complete A-Z suites and everything is ready. Also they include Mocha Pro in the software like Hitfilm Pro

Davinci Resolve Studio also have its own Roto tools as well in the color/fusion page including 3D tracker. And it only cost 299USD for the whole eco system from A-Z

Hitfilm Pro 16 cost almost the same with VEGAS Pro, its 2 in 1 program, got its own edit page & compositing page. It does provide Mocha for roto & Foundry 3D tracker to the user.

VEGAS POST in the other hand does not have its own roto or any 3D tracking system, and it cost 999USD if u purchase entire suites or pay monthly around 30USD ish.

If I only use VEGAS POST Suites, I most likely unable to execute certain creative process due to the software limitations.

Yes it is made as an alternative to After Effects, but at this point it is not really close to the many benefits AE can offer.... So with Vegas Pro and After Effects in my arsenal/workflow, there is no need for anything else really.

It does have some advantages, such as its trapcode-like particle system, which is a costly add-on to AE.

Another tutorial at VEGAS Creative Software channel, specifically how to create complex graphic for Title. Hope this gives you further understanding of the workflow including how to make more complex graphics rather than just simple text I explained above.

Remember that you can also have multiple composition 'timeline' here and bring that 'child compositing timeline' to another 'parent timeline'.
