Vegas Movie Studio 15.0 - cuts out the start of a video

Hi there,

I've just run into an issue with adding a particular video into Movie Studio 15 Platinum. When I added in the video file to the timeline, it cuts off the first few seconds of the video as if they were not there. This is quite annoying. It was an MP4 file screen recorded on my phone using DURecorder.

When playing the video back outside of Movie Studio, it is 10 seconds before I open the play store.

When in Movie Studio, it is 3 seconds before I open the play store, meaning the software has automatically cut out the first 7 seconds of the video.

Details about the video file and the exact process that happens is shown in this video -

Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks,
Lachlan

I don't know the answer to your problem but suggest you update to the latest build 116 for VMS15Platinum. Details here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-15-update-build-106-116--110830/

If the update doesn't help, try disabling so4compoundplug.dll. There are more suggestions on this post, which applies to VMS as well as Vegas Pro.

If you share a sample file (e.g. on Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, mega.nz, wetransfer.com or mediafire.com), others can test it and we can link the developers to it to try and get it fixed.

Thanks for your replies. Will try this tomorrow. Is there any way to check for updates from inside of movie studio?

Not in the way other software lets you check or automatically tells you of updates. There's the menu item - Help/Check for News, but that doesn't appear to be 100% reliable even with the Newsfeed box ticked in Options/Preferences/General. At least that's my experience.

Disabling so4compoundplug.dll worked. Thanks so much!
