Hello! Please helpl! With update 116 in movie studio platinum 15 i see tha mistaken size in preview. Can't affect to this by the program features. But i noticed some interesting moment - if i do the "edge trim"(alt+cntrl) size of the window increasing.
I'm already clean the cache by shift+contrl on the start program.

There is nothing wrong with the program.
You have placed your Video on the new Picture in Picture video track.
Move your video down onto Track #3 and the video will be full screen.

Press the fx button inside of Track #2 control box and you will see controls for re-sizing and re-positioning Picture in Picture fx.

i just got sony vegas movie studio 15 and i'm racking my head trying to get it to work. any suggestions

One request to Magix. Please add a news item when new patches are available so the software can alert users of available update. I could have used these fixes a few months ago but never knew there was an update available.

The program is still crash happy when playing back. I just loaded a simple project (one audio and one video track) and while playing back, moved the cursor to another point on the track. Program hung and I eventually had to kill it.

I installed the update 116 and I still experience the very slow loading times for projects. For example a project with 100 MP4 clips takes several minutes to load on a Dell XPS 15. The same clips will load in VMS14 in just a few seconds. Is this a known problem or do you need a full detailed error report

Probably because you didn't hold the SHIFT-key while going to Options/Preferences!

Type "main" into the search box.
Set to "TRUE"
When you go back to Render As, Mainconcept AVC/AAC will now be visible.

I need help with this. When I search for "main", there are no results. How do I get my codec back?

I am using Movie Studio 14.0.

Which codec are you looking for in VMS 14?

From memory Mainconcept AVC/AAC wasn't hidden in VMS14 so there's no need to go into Internal Preferences.

It should appear as in j-v's screenshot. If it doesn't check that you aren't applying a display filter.

I am missing the codec "Internet HD 720p" with the option to output in 3:4 ratio. I followed some instructions to download missing codecs and I restored on with that name, but it limits output to 9:16, so it is distorting my project. I am working in 1080x1440. Before I reinstalled Vegas, the codec I had worked perfectly.

Do you know of anything I can do to output a project in 3:4 ratio without going to BluRay or 480p resolutions?

@j-v I don't think customizing codec templates is possible unless I had purchased the Pro version, so I need to get the codec back that I was working with before I reinstalled.

I know most people don't work in 3:4, but the flexibility is one of the reasons why I like Vegas so much. :-)
