Vegas Pro 13 repeatedly freezing on render of XAVC-S timeline

So, here we go again. This has happened in the past but it has reared its head again. One hour 40 minute timeline, simple edit of two camera show, four XAVC-S files with separate audio. Same camera and sound I shoot and edit this way, for years now. I'm assuming Windows 10 is at fault, Creators Update maybe? I go to render in Sony AVC AAC 16 Mbps, and 7 attempts now have resulted in lock-up of Vegas Pro 13. Every time at a different point in the time line. As early as 1% in, as late as 19% in. Funny thing is, it burned the blu-ray of the same timeline with no problem. Anyone else having similar problems?

BTW, editing on 2016 HP Z640 Xeon Workstation with 64 GB of RAM and AMD Radeon R7 370. Trying another render right now with GPU disabled.

Now trying a render with GPU disabled. At 21% now. Hopeful.

Crashed at 51%, again at 17%. Resolve 14 here I come. It's getting to where the edit in Vegas Pro takes less time than repeated attempts at rendering.

Check out the FAQ section for info on how to post media info and project properties... and for general trouble shooting.

I don't have any XAVC media handy to test , but FWIW he Sony AVC  encoder is working fine here for GH4 mp4  files.

Mark, have a look through this and the post it links to: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-stop-vegas-pro-hanging-or-crashing-during-rendering--104786/

Well, I finally got it to render by accessing the project from my Mac Pro running an older version of Windows 10. I suspect the problem is with some update Microsoft implemented that conflicts with Vegas somehow. Kinda worked out - the project and media files were on my NAS, so I moved onto other projects on the Windows workstation while the Mac Pro (BootCamp partition) chugged away rendering the project.

It might just be an XAVC-S problem. Vegas has issues with XAVC-S/L such as poor playback and slow loading.
