The original creator of that group is someone else

I did not know that. Thank you for the information, set. Still, it doesn't completely hinder my point, does it?

Yes... we know... people have choices... and Madison team has been informed as well... and he (admin of Sony Vegas editors FB group) asked me too if he wants to take the admin position back but right now I personally better focus helping here along with other moderators (especially Nick Hope) and we try our best too helping the developers by looking all of your feedback and reports, test the issue on our system (although not every crashes or issue can be reproduced). If there are any alternative workflow for it, we along with other members try offer the alternative solution to you for that one.

Right now I personally choose to stay in Vegas Pro. Even though I already half-learned the Resolve, Vegas Pro still fit to me.

I am thankful for all of the hard work that is going into Vegas. I was torn a few months ago when Vegas still a Sony product about leaving all I had learned about Vegas products as I had found a dongle for another program that was pretty cheep, but it was not a good product but I have years of knowing how to edit video using Studio and did not want to learn a entirely new set of tools. Thank you for rescuing Vegas and continuing to issue fixes. Every program has it strengths and weakness, and many of the negative posts here are not deserved. Waiting to see what you do with movie studio as that is the gateway for many folks due to cost. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for producing the update. There was a noticeable improvement on 201 so am keen to try this. I still think this is the fastest to edit professional program on the market and I really enjoy the add ons that came with my original purchase. I am really interested to see how well you tackle 4k 60fps and .265.

Cheers.

J'ai retiré administrateur de VEGAS PRO 14 et Sony Sound Forge y compris des raccourcis bureau et ça marche.

Ensuite j'ai remis administrateur sur VEGAS PRO 14.

ça fonctionne

I removed administrator from VEGAS PRO 14 and Sony Sound Forge including desktop shortcuts and it works. Then I handed administrator on VEGAS PRO 14. it works

Awesome SET ! Many thanks for your reply. I've been needing that for over a year when I was using SONY Movie Studio. Now if we could only make the icons a little bigger LOL. :-)

That sounds like a delightful enhancement request, which I'd second.

Some way to more clearly see when significant edit-modes are toggled, particularly Ripple being "on" or "off". I did know about the icon, but being so much smaller and tucked away at the bottom on V14 (vs V10) it's difficult to see which state it's in, and something which we, too, constantly have to say "OOPS" as we toggle it on/off very frequently during edits.

The Steam Edition and 'Normal' version are different versions... The currently available build 211 available here are for 'Normal' Version.

Are all updates cumulative? I don't really need this update but if a future one is released that may be of more of a benefit for me I would want to expect for this update to also be included in any future update.

I have a request for a future enhancement. Could a visible icon of some sort be implemented that would show when the AUTO RIPPLE is turned on or off? I'm continually having to go up to the drop down menus to find out whether it is on or off, usually after I've screwed up :-(

Here I suggest a solution:

I'm glad to see that in the English forum the development team is actually and actively responding to questions and suggestions. The German side doesn't really do that and apparently doesn't understand Vegas yet, maybe the team here in Germany is too small as well. We'll see. Thumbs up to all Vegas developers, especially the guys who have been on board for years: In my opinion you have invented a truly groundbreaking editing software, and your current competitors had to invest years of work to come close to the Vegas workflow. I appreciate that there's a chance now Vegas will survive despite of some parts now being outdated. (I've started with version 4.0 so long ago... and still want to stick to it.)

The steam community is still waiting for updates! Haven't even gotten the prev update yet. :( If there's a alot of work keeping the steam edition up to date, maybe there's a possibility to make the new downloadable updates usable for steam users as well?

wsd wrote on 1/15/2017, 7:26 PM

Cosmin_Gurau; Yes, I'm painfully aware of all of that, including the fact that none of it is happening as fast as we'd all like. I take responsibility for making the decisions about which problems we address and the order in which we address them. You keep pushing me, I keep pushing the team, they keep pushing their limits.

For me, Vegas Pro is running fine, the updates add nice features, and stability is improving. And we're all still working with it, so we like the interface and the possibilities. I am rather dissapointed that in update 4 there still is no support for the new Panasonic UltraAVC codec (Varicam and Varicam LT). P2 is supported, but only the 'old' 720p and 1080i/p on DVCPRO-HD and AVC-Intra. Non of the new, higher bandwidth codecs is supported.

This is a sure bet to drive customers away - lacking support on codecs. And it's not like Panasonic is some obscure little company with a very exotic flavour of codec that's supported nowhere. In fact, it is supported in all mayor professional NLE's (Adobe, Avid, Edius and FCP all support the new 4K AVCIntra). Vegas Pro nowhere to be seen on the official Panasonic roster :

http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/varicam/lt/workflow.html

I have no intention to switch to another NLE, unless I have to. Things like this always force me to do so (at least for converting) - imagine the mess I'm in now : get another NLE (not just a converter, they rarely work on higher end codecs), transcode the files (time, quality loss, choose a compatible codec, have extra HDD space for the converted files, ...)...

Vegas Pro well deserves its Pro suffix for its features, but if you can't edit one of the major codecs available in the pro segment, it might not be worth its suffix.

Anyhow - as I said, I have no intention of leaving, but please fix the support, as you will make my life easier :-) and in one go, make the product viable again for a whole bunch of other video and film professionals.
