I personally have no comment regarding to price issue...

But, rather than complaining & make you think of the issue... let's do something else...

The venting here is probably just an indication of frustration and a disappointment of the MAGIX take-over and how it has been handled from a Vegas user's point of view. Better to vent here than abuse your kids or be rude to your wife ;)  You might even get some sympahty from other (understanding) fellow Vegas users :)  It's not that I could afford to purchase VP14 (upgrade), the motivation or reason to upgrade just isn't  there... It's more about the principle than the price. I don't feel comfortable paying for something with no actual value. The ignorance of not sending info to all customers (me included) also pisses me off. However, I give credit to MAGIX for fixing a bunch of bugs in this release, but none of those have bitten me, or I know how to work around them... And as usual, a number of new bugs surfaced. The HDV related memory leak would bite me, as well as the scripting incompatibility.

The already second (or is it third time?) extended "upgrade" deal might indicate that not that many have upgraded (as MAGIX thought). The might extend it furter, but the price might still be an offending factor for many, taking everything into consideration. My optinion is still that what they ask is way too much just for an bug upgrade, assuming I don't need any of the few new features.

Just let us hope that MAGIX surprise us later on - in a positive way. I love Vegas and would like to renew if there is value, and will actively follow what happens in the near futre. Meanwhile I use VP13 without GPU and do not start any projects with a tight schedule... Still the nicest UI and intuitive interface (for an old audio fart as me).
