Vegas Pro 14 won't install

I just bought Vegas Pro and am now trying to install it.

However whenever I click on the installer, a little window pops up, disappears and then nothing happens any more. No error code, it just closes without any message. Administrator and compatibility doesn't change anything.

Also there are no log files or similar since it crashes right at the beginning without doing anything.

I'm running Windows 10 64bit with everything up-to-date.

In case this is relevant for a mod, this is my order number 20170616011480560MXC

I am having this exact issue, installing as an administrator didn't fix it. There are no other support pages I can find that outline this same issue, so I hope someone can help us resolve this. I've tried multiple installers, both for vegas pro 14 and music maker 25 (both magix programs) and both unpack everything from the installer to a temp folder, but the actual installation fails to start.

Go through this if you haven't already: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-can-t-i-install-vegas-pro--104783/

I have just worked my way through that, and my issue remained unresolved. I have submitted a support ticket using the link at the bottom of that FAQ, and I hope they can help

It looks like the servers are just being incredibly slow right now, if you are getting errors like -7 or -13 just keep trying, it should eventually work. It finally did for me.

If there was an error message, this would be a bit easier to fix. But there isn't.

I have the exact same problem. After running the installer a window pops up, then immediately dissapears. I can see the installer process being idle in the task manager. It just sits there for a couple of minutes until it shuts down by itself. No error message.

Had the same problem. It turned out you just have to wait and eventually an installer window appears (minimized). Just poor UI design choice.

I really don't know what to tell you guys. 20+ attempts, over 4 restarts and I just got it to work without changing anything :/

From MAGIX 40 minutes ago:

"MAGIX is currently experiencing technical difficulties with their servers, which are the cause for the issues during downloads. Please be patient as MAGIX is working on a solution for this issue."

I've been having the same problem for 2 days on my home PC. >_< But I was able to successfully install the trial on my work PC this afternoon.... eek

Yeah this was definitely their server issue. I'm glad to see this has been resolved. 😀

Caulix wrote on 12/15/2017, 7:45 AM

The issue remains for me :/ Guess I'll wait it out and keep trying

I think the "Humble Bundle" stampede slowed down the servers big time ... if you still got a problem like this, start the installation and wait ... even if it looks like nothing happens... just let it run for a while!

I was having the same issue and found a solution. I noticed when I would try to install it, if I opened up the task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Escape), there was a process named Installer32 or something like that, which is the program that is trying to install the software. I right clicked this process and clicked on properties. Then clicked on compatability and clicked the compatability troubleshooter. This started do do something, but it made the install program pop up in the background, so I just cancelled the troubleshooter and continued my install. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. Th MXDownloadManager.exe runs for about 3 seconds and then closes. I just see flashes of the screen. Any other tips?

Caulix wrote on 12/21/2017, 3:36 PM

I still couldn't get the download manager to load. So I downloaded the full installer instead.

(there are links for both Vegas 14 and 15)

And it worked! 😺
