A function for turning video into timelapse ...

Forgive my ignorance & rudeness, but what the Hell on Earth prevents you from setting project's frame rate (with resample disabled) to 1 fps or 0.1 fps, or whatever frames per second to suite your "decimation rate desires"?

And then render the result to PNG or TIFF image sequence.

...You can then combine you videos in one project & photos in another and drag them into the third project as "sub-projects"... if you wish.

~ ~ ~

Given the video was 30 fps,
The project setting of 6 fps would deliver you a "1/5 decimation ratio"
3 fps = 1/10 decimation
1 fps = 1/30 ratio
0.5 fps = 1/60 ratio
0.1 fps = 1/300 ratio

Is that a rocket science...

P.S.:
Beware! Check you motion blurs!!! These should be applied at Media level!!!

One more feature request.

Dear MAGIX Creative Team!

Please add TARGA image format to Vegas's import/export capabilities!

With possibility to choose to render RLE-compressed or non-compressed .TGA files.

Thank you in advance!

Just curious, but why is TARGA needed ?  Is this for legacy projects or is there a technical advantage?

Jam_One wrote on 8/27/2017, 1:32 PM

"Because Hollywood works with TARGA".

Sort of.

As far as I could have seen.

At least, concerning music videos.

That is a route I could take... but it still requires that I import the video, set the project settings, render the image out, then import that into another project. I was just hoping there could be a way that I can just make a subclip instantly that knows to sample the video it came from at the rate I specify.

VEGAS 15 now ONLINE in Germany....

Should be online all over the globe. Take a look at the download site of Vegas Creative Software.

Dear community,

Almost a full year has passed since the revival of VEGAS Pro, and what ride it's been! Your support and enthusiasm have been nothing short of amazing. You have given us fantastic feedback and ideas for the future. So now we're excited to announce that the future you helped create begins to unfold with the release of VEGAS Pro 15 on August 28.

What can you expect from VEGAS Pro 15? Well, we can't list all the new features just yet, but here are a couple that we'll know you'll be interested in because they came directly from your feedback!

A GUI for everyone

From the moment you open the new software, you'll notice major UI changes which are not only designed to look pretty, but also bring innovative usability improvements to your workflow. Now more than ever, you can choose the GUI setup that works for you. For example, from in depth community discussion, we learned that some of you like a dark background, and some want to keep a lighter background. Some want monochromatic buttons, and some value buttons with color. Now those choices are up to you! And those are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to optimizing your workspace so that it works most efficiently for your unique editing style and workflow.

Editing speed efficiencies

You supplied a number of great ideas on how VEGAS Pro could speed your editing even more. We've implemented a number of these features. For instance, you wanted a "one-click" way to create a freeze frame in an event, and so in VEGAS Pro 15, you have exactly such a tool. Now, instead of following a multi-step procedure to create a freeze-frame video, you can accomplish the task with far less clicking. And that's just one example of how we've made editing faster and more intuitive.

Hardware accelerated Encoding/Decoding

VEGAS Pro 15 leverages modern hardware for accelerated encoding and decoding, including support for Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) and other technologies.

We don't want to spoil all the surprises, but you'll only have to wait a little longer to get to know the other features and improvements of VEGAS Pro 15. We hope you are as excited as we are!

Best regards,
Mathias

i would like to know will i be able to render using gtx 1070 because i cant render with it on vegas pro 14

349$ Is a lot yes for an upgrade, well it is for me, so I will pass this update/upgrade and keep using VP14, hope the buyers are happy with VP15😁 Even tho I am wondering how about customers who bought VP14 a few months before when VP15 was announced if they get a discount or VP15 for free, I will get pissed if I didn't know this before, the only way to keep up-to-date is thru this forum what is going on, there wasn't either a sign after VP15 was announced in the store when buying VP14 "to wait and get 15" or whatever, strange marketing from MAGIX but thanks anyway MAGIX that VP it is alive and kicking!

KarmaMole wrote on 8/28/2017, 3:38 AM

Seriously? $349 for an upgrade after I just paid for another Upgrade from Vegas 13 to Vegas 14 just a year ago? This isn't an upgrade, this is a masked $349 / Year Subscription plan. The upgrade should cost far less for users of Vegas Suite 14 users since the last upgrade offered so few new features that we were essentially just paying to move from Sony to Magix. I am not willing to pay $349 / Year just to have my Vegas software up to date. No wonder people resort to piracy :(

konstantinos-sokolas wrote on 8/28/2017, 3:44 AM

For all those that bought VP15, do hardware acceleration and render times have any significant changes?

Ok, thanks. I am on the pro version, the middle one, there it is 100$ less.
