Vegas Pro 19 doesnt detect hardware encoder

Hi,

I have been using Vegas Pro 18 before and now updated to Vegas Pro 19. Vegas has never detected my graphics card. I started to check why and found out that the So4HardwareDetection.exe works through command prompt but when starting Vegas is Encounters error 0x80040002 while trying to detect hardware decoders and asks to update drivers. So I dont have nvenc render options.

I have the newest Studio Drivers for Nvidia 472,84 and my Graphics Card is Geforce 1080 ti, operating system is Windows 10 Home with Finnish language.

I saw one post back from october this year about this from Polish user but no answer how to solve this. I would be very grateful for any help with this problem.

This shows the video decode working with 1080Ti during playback. Do you get this display in Task manager when playing back a file on timeline?

Now the crashing at Creating Windows part came back. No idea what causes that. I think it is best for me to reinstall my windows completely and then try that xml file fix again. I cannot continue trying to fix it tonight anymore so have to continue tomorrow anyway. Thank you very much for your help, I'll try to reinstall the windows and lets see what happens.

Little update to my situation. I reinstalled my windows, left the language in English and wrote my username without umlauta (a with dots). I only installed graphics driver, windows updates, F-secure and Office 365 products and only Vegas 19 Pro, no sapphire or anything and now everything works. Vegas recognizes the graphics card, rendering works with nvenc and no hicups. I dont know if the language of the operating system or my username caused the problems but no everything seems to work. Thanks andyrpsmith for your time, now I know where to look for those xml files and also how to check from Vegas that everything works.

Glad to hear you now have a working V19, worth the effort as I think V19 is the best version yet. BW Andy
