VEGAS Pro 21.0 Crash on Startup (ntdll.dll, 0xc0000005)

Hello everyone,

I am a licensed user of VEGAS Pro 21.0, and since switching to a Lenovo Legion 7 16ACHg6 (R7 5800H / RTX 3070) laptop, I have been experiencing a critical startup crash.

I suspected a software conflict and performed a full format and clean install of Windows 10, yet the error persists exactly the same way. I believe I have gone through every possible troubleshooting step available, and I am reaching out to see if anyone using this specific Legion 7 model has solved this issue or if I have overlooked a deep system setting.

1. 🛑 Detailed Error Information

The program terminates immediately after clicking the icon or during the initial splash screen loading phase.

Program Version: VEGAS Pro 21.0 (Build 315)

Error Type: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)

Fault Module: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll

2. 💻 Hardware/Software Environment

Laptop Model: Lenovo LEGION 7 16ACHg6

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU (NVIDIA Studio Driver installed)

OS: Windows 10 Pro (Clean installed and fully updated)

3. ✅ All Troubleshooting Steps Attempted (Failure Report)

To eliminate all potential causes, the following extensive and deep-level troubleshooting steps have been executed:

A. System Integrity and Dependencies

Full format and clean installation of Windows completed.

Windows SFC and DISM scans completed (system files verified).

Windows Memory Diagnostic (RAM test) passed (no errors found).

All Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (2015-2022) x86/x64 were completely uninstalled and clean reinstalled from official sources.

.NET Framework 3.5 manually verified and enabled.

Tested launching with Administrator privileges and Windows 8 Compatibility Mode.

B. VEGAS Program Initialization & Workarounds

Forced configuration reset using Ctrl + Shift (including manual deletion of the user profile folder in AppData due to program failure to launch).

Tested launch with the /NOVSTGROVEL command line switch added to the desktop shortcut.

Manually deleted the VEGAS Pro registry key (under HKEY_CURRENT_USER) to force a completely clean configuration reset.

Tested High DPI settings set to 'System' or 'System (Enhanced)' in the compatibility tab.

C. LEGION 7 Hardware Conflict Isolation (Critical)

Disabled Hybrid Mode (set to Discrete Graphics Only) in BIOS/Lenovo Vantage.

Forced VEGAS Pro to use the RTX 3070 as the High-Performance GPU via Windows Graphics Settings.

Nahimic Service found and set to 'Disabled' and 'Stopped' in services.msc. (Note: The specific NahimicOSD.dll file was not found on the system.)

All external displays (HDMI) and USB audio devices were disconnected for a standalone laptop test.

Disabled XMP/Overclocking settings in the BIOS.

4. ❓ Seeking Community Input

Has anyone else using this specific Legion 7 (16ACHg6) model encountered and successfully resolved this exact ntdll.dll crash?

I suspect a deeper conflict related to a specific AMD/Lenovo driver or a known bug in VEGAS Pro 21's initialization routine on this hardware. Any known registry fixes or driver version workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and expertise.
