I'm a little confused, but does that mean 356 has been discontinued? I'm curious as to why. Is it a new 302, or is it simply a rollback due to a problem with the 356 version?
No, it's the same build 302. It had problems with the cursor not moving when tracks were collapsed (and other issues, esp. with ProRes, though wasn't removed due to them).
Not having any freeze-ups changing window layouts with b356 which I'm trying to keep using. I do see some issues, however. I see the layouts marked with stars right after I switch layouts like I just edited the layout. If I re-save the layout, the star goes away until I switch layouts. I routinely re-save all my layouts whenever a new build comes out and that usually makes the stars stay away unless I actually re-size a window in a layout .
Changing from default layout to a custom layout is still very slow and sometimes leads to a crash. Are their any specific settings in Windows 11 that may influence this behavior?

That's the question- what is contributing to the crash? Is there a project media or explorer tab with media that VEGAS doesn't like in certain modes? Does Windows Reliability History give a clue as to what crashed? (type it into Windows search). If you have any clues for how to reproduce it I and others would be happy to try!
After color grading a few clips, I had the same situation going from default to Color Correction layouts.
I noticed the Color Correction Layout has only the Color Grading tab (at the bottom). There are no Explorer, Project Media, Hub, Media FX, etc. tabs. Without those tabs visible, the Color Correction layout takes longer to display (up to 10 seconds for me) than if all the tabs were displayed. Try creating the Color Correction Layout from scratch starting with the Timeline at the Top layout and then rearranging windows and adding the Vector Scope and Color Grading Window, but don't close any tabs except maybe the trimmer. Save as a new layout. The new layout opens almost instantly.
