lenard@ Symptoms are similar to me... I'm 10 cores, but this error doesn't make any sense

@yoo-changyun I would uncheck the last post as "the solution" as this does not appear resolved. We haven't figured out why the file loads on some systems but not others or why it flickers.

I just tried the clip in VP18 373 and like @lan-mLMC no flicker.

None of the File I/O features in Preferences are check marked and so4compound reader is default.

Curious as to which brand of video cards are being used that have the problem. I am using an AMD graphics card.

It may because your video doesn't have a audio stream/track. Try to add a audio stream to it : https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-can-t-import-my-timelapse-movie-error-other-software-can--125912/#ca783718

Or try to install some codecs like K-lite codecs. I have installed K-lite codecs and don't need to add a audio stream to your video. So I guess it may be because this. But installing codecs has some risk. you need to install it before installing VEGAS Pro to make sure that it will not disturb VEGAS default decoding configs.

@lan-mLMC However a few of us can open the exact same file in the same version of Vegas without adding an audio stream. I also don't have additional codecs installed (and wouldn't recommend that).

@yoo-changyun: I downloaded the clip you provided, and with all default preferences, it does load and play on the one machine I tried so far. It is decoded by the software MainConcept AVC decoder, so no hardware decoding / drivers are involved. You can find out the decoder being used by pressing the Shift key when invoking the "General" tab of the Event properties dialog - you mentioned that this file works in the earlier version of VP18, so could you also repeat the same exercise with b373 and the older build, and report your findings?

Can you switch your GPU acceleration device to "Off" (accessed using Options -> Preferences -> Video -> "GPU acceleration of video processing") and see if that helps? We have had at least one other report of black flickering frames with the NVIDIA 2060 GPU, and we are still investigating that problem (initial impression is that it's not related to hardware decoding).

VEGASHeman@ I tested it on another computer and the symptoms are the same.
The vegas pro16 plays perfectly, and the vegas pro18 has an error in playing The computer spec I tested this time is i9 9900k ram32g 1660ti. In summary, it is the same as i9 9900x ram64g geforce gtx 2060. The settings are the same as the previous media info values.
