VegasPro 20 - Magix refuses to provide support for crash on start-up

In response to my support inquiry, Magix has told me that they will not Support VegasPro 20, and that the only way to fix the problem is to purchase the upgrade(s) to VegasPro 23. But I have also read that this actually an issue with VegasPro 23 as well.
Okay, so time to move on to a different video editing software provider. While I'm fortunate to have FCPX on a computer provided by my employer, I need solid, dependable video editing software on my Win laptop too. I can't waste time and money on a company that refuses to support it's product. Good luck to all those suffering with the same issue. I'm don't have time to wait around to see if this will ever be resolved.

VP20 was released in August 2022, that's almost 4 years ago and 3 versions before actual VP23 version. It has always been that only the actual version is supported by Magix. For issues with older versions, this forum is a good place to get such issues solved, when telling what exactly the issue is.

@Marc-Langelier Software providers generally never rewrite older versions of their software. The only exception I can recall is Vegas doing it once when they realized they inadvertently built an expiration date into their exe signatures.

If you are an Nvidia user, be aware that they intentionally broke updates of their drivers to block them from working with older software. Probably so they could collect more licensing fees from developers by forcing the sale of newer versions. If that's your problem, the easiest fix is to revert to an older Nvidia driver. Or switch to a less cutthroat gpu maker like Amd.

@Marc-Langelier
In your previous post, a potential solution has been posted...did you look at that. It is very likely the culprit if VP 20 had been working for you previously.
