Video Not Showing In Editor

Just today, when I uploaded an MP4 video to Movie Maker 16, it loaded, audio working, but no video frames showing in editor at bottom of screen and when I play it in Movie Maker 16, no video showing in preview screen, although the audio does appear. I tired all I could think of, uninstalled and reinstalled software, but to no avail.

It was working well when I recently edited a video, but today I cannot get it to work no matter what video file I UPLOAD.

I'm checked to make sure there wasn't an update I missed, and tried several video clips but the problem persist in all situations. I did recently update Windows 10.

I'm using Movie Maker 16 on a Windows 10 MSI gaming laptop.

A simple reset of the program should also helped (for the next time to use) but you disabled the preview yourself through the blue coloured button above that screen.
Click it and your preview will be back.

Thanks for that suggestion. I clicked on it earlier following some other tech advice. I followed your suggestion but the PREVIEW does not appear. I don't think the problem is with the PREVIEW window because I don't see any screenshots on the timeline below either.

I wonder if the problem is with with a codec? Not sure where to proceed.
