Video on Timeline is not playing on the video preview on Vegas 20.

Video on Timeline is not playing on the video preview, I can hear the sound and it plays few random frames.

I just upgraded from Vegas 14 to 20, it's been a long time since I used it.

I can play the same clip from explorer with no problem

@Michael-Ojjeh

Vegas Pro 14 didn't exploit the GPU in the same way that later versions do. Did you verify that your undisclosed hardware meets the minimum requirements for Vegas Pro 20? Perhaps you'd care to elucidate?

Thank you John, I just found out that I only have 16 GB RAM not 32, that's a bummer.

I actually have Vegas 13 not 14 and it plays the same clip fine on the video preview.

Did you learn what your CPU and GPU is? If so please share. Also look for recent drivers by going to help/driver update in VP 20.

What is the exact media? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

I don't know what your GPU or media is but it may be an issue with GPU decoding. 13 didn't have that and you can make 20 act like 13 by checking "enable legacy AVC" in preferences/ file io.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GHz, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

The media is .MOV from my Canon 5D VI.

Thank you so much Roger, I enable Legacy AVC and it's working.

I see this CPU doesn't have an integrated GPU. It's unclear what your GPU is but it appears not to decode this file type well.
