Video Preview Window goes black during editing playback

Vegas Pro 19. Video Preview Window goes black during editing playback - sometimes it works on a neighboring clip other times choppy - all seems very random. The Rendering comes out fine, but with the video blacked out in Preview or Trimmer, I have no way to fine tune edits. I doubt it is the system (64 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090, i7-11700k 3.6GHz, Windows 11 Pro). I would love to know what settings need to change. Thank you.

Before anyone can help please read this:

Black preview is often related to graphics processing or media being used.

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

13th gen i913900K - water cooled, 96GB RAM, 4TB M2 drive, 4TB games SSD, 2TB video SSD, GPU RTX 4080 Super, Windows 11 pro

Can you use MediaInfo to clarify: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Are you using the NVIDIA decoder (in preferences/file io)? I think I recall issues with this camera before in Vegas. If you can get the Intel UHD Graphics 750 iGPU to work that may help. Otherwise try turning hardware decoding off in file i/o may help stability though playback performance will likely suffer.

RogerS - that might have worked. I could not get the black out to repeat but then again it is hit or miss. When I start my next project, I will let you know. Thank you very much for being responsive! Cheers.
