Video Stabilization missing after update to Build 636

David-Grace wrote on 6/3/2022, 7:32 AM

After updating this morning the standard Vegas stabiliser plugin can not be found and just brings up an error notifying me of a missing plugin when I open existing projects?

Any ideas on how to get this restored?

It's very annoying as I'm unable to get on with my work today. I've tried rolling back to the previous build and uninstalling and re-installing but nothing seems to bring the stabiliser back.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it's not the legacy one I use. It's the current Magix stabilizer that you can apply at an event level that's disappeared.

That is odd. With b636, I've still got the native Vegas Pro Video Stabilization FX at the event level. Perhaps try resetting Vegas Pro back to its factory default settings as per https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/ . But note that this does take it back to its basic default settings and any custom view, display or toolbar settings will need to be made again.

I don't have a stabilizer plugin in 636 either, only if I enable the legacy stabilizer. I reinstalled it, reset it, but it's not there, neither is the denoise plugin

It's very strange. Glad to hear you've still got it at your end. I've just tried resetting it as you suggested, still no joy I'm afraid.
I saved my preferences before the reset so I can load them back in after trying that experiment quite easily.
It's like the plugin is missing entriely from my system, but I don't know how to get it back, especially as I've tried uninstalling and re-installing already.

I just installed the 550 version and it has Denoise and Video stabilization. I just upgraded to 636 and both are missing (I haven't looked at the other filters).
Here are the two pictures from the 550 version.

It's not a hardware bug, because if it was in the 550 version but not in the 636 version, it's a bug.
And my hardware is as follows:
- i7-3770
- 32 GB RAM
- NVIDIA RTX 3060 - 12 GB
- Windows 10.

Thanks for your advice and taking the time to message. I should think my computer easily meets the requirements:
Ryzen 7 2700x 8 Core
32gb Ram
NVIDIA RTX 3050
Windows 10

Never had an issue running vegas on it until today. Hopefully it's a bug Magix can patch very soon!

Hmm it stikes me as odd that the built in stabilizer would be broken by a compatibilty issue. It makes sense for issues with third party plugins like ProDAD etc, but the effect I'm reffering to is part of the stock Vegas install, is the Magix video stabiliser that they made and implemented.
Does anyone know how to make an official bug report to Magix?

Dexcon wrote on 6/3/2022, 9:11 AM

@Mykee  ... as you've probably now seen, your CPU is well below recommended minimum specifications for Vegas Pro 19 - 3 gens behind for HD and 4 gens behind for 4K.

"Update to support the latest version of OFX specification"

Yes, that may be right particularly if coding in the latest OFX specs requires coding only available in more recent CPUs. But I'm only speculating.

But then @David-Grace has the same problem with an up-to-date system. It would be a good idea to send off support requests to Support via the Support button at the top of the forum - but it is a convoluted process that needs to be persisted with in order to get to the lodge a support request button.

Yes, I installed this, but but I don't see these filters. Could this be the solution? Are they not set up properly?

Here are my filters after removing the 3rd party plugins and reset:

Vegas_Sebastian wrote on 6/3/2022, 10:01 AM

@Mykee So, you are missing all plugins from 'MagixAiFx.ofx.bundle' and 'MagixCVFx.ofx.bundle'. Can you look into this folders and report if 'MagixCVFx.ofx' or 'MagixAiFx.ofx' are preset in their Content\Win64 folder path. It would be also nice if you can share your log file (svfx_video_grovel_x64.log) which is located in your user folder (C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0)
