VIDEOSCOPES DISCREPANCIES

wslagter1 wrote on 2/10/2017, 3:04 PM

I am working on a project in Vegas Pro 14 , saved on an external HDD, and edit the same project on my laptop and PC. With Vector Scopes, I balanced Brightness and Contrast is  and Saturation is within legal broadcast limits all corrected on my laptop. Now when I plug in my HDD to my PC and open up the same project, all Vector Scopes values are different. I use exactly the same Project Properties and Vector Scope Settings  and both Vegas Pro 14 versions are the same (built 211).

Can somebody explain why this happens ?

Thanks

Can you post a screenshot of both?

If you are using the Smew extension, make sure it is set to the same setting on both computers.

Also check the settings are the same, under the "cog" symbol:

Also, make sure that Preview Quality is the same on both machines. Best/Full etc.

Thanks for the feedback.

Preview quality is the same, Video Scope setting is the same. In general, it seems that the Waveform values on my PC  are more conservative.  92% - 8%  instead of 100% -0 % on my laptop.

This is probably another issue, but I also noted that, still working on the same project,  some NewBlue  text media  disappears on my PC and if it's there, the Font is sometimes different    .

What you are describing is a difference in the way your scopes are set up on one computer as opposed to the other. Post some screenshots and we can help.

Maybe GPU acceleration is enabled on one and not the other, or GPU acceleration is behaving differently on each.

I understand  that you can configure PC/Laptop differently That's probably what was the case but my video scopes settings were the same. If different PC/Laptop settings give different video scope readings, what would be the correct PC/Laptop settings in order to find the correct video scope readings ?

Not quite sure what you're asking. I'm wondering if a codec is behaving differently between the 2 machines. What format is the footage?

Does Vegas recognize the GPU on the laptop? Do you have the same GPU driver version on both machines? Try turning off GPU on both machines.
