VP18 borderline unusable (undo issue) and complaining.

Zaither-P wrote on 1/2/2021, 9:43 AM

Hello, I've recently been running into an issue with VEGAS Pro 18 (Build 373) where if I try to undo anything, It will most likely result in a crash. I know that this bug has been around for ages as I recall this scenario happening to me in several past versions. It makes VEGAS borderline unusable. I am already aware that a possible solution for this could be to freshly reinstall VEGAS. But honestly, I'm tired of that being the solution for most issues like this...

Devs, PLEASE work on legacy bugs! 🥺 Back when I saw that MAGIX bought up VEGAS from Sony, that's all that I was hoping for... I'm still trying to hold on to that- but with the last few versions, you guys are making it difficult for me to keep supporting the VEGAS name.

I've been using Vegas Pro for about 10 years.
Version 11,12,13,14,15,17,18 But I've never crashed because of the UNDO function.
Sometimes because of other problems, but not because of UNDO.

I thought your problem was solved:

Have you tried the last advice I gave you on this linked thread - and what was the result?

Would be nice of you, if you would at least answer, when someone tries to help you.

Actually today I did tryout for a project , I first did a tracking edit with Mocha deleted that after that I did a lot of other stuff . At the end I want do go back to my first Mocha tryout.

I had to press Crontrol Z , like for 20 times , it worked perfecty.

The only problem I noticed today was ;

When I added Mocha and clicked it to open the Mocha editor , it sometimes took a while to start

So I clicked it again

Vegas froze and didn't react anymore

Below on the taskbar I noticed that Mocha had opened twice

When I closed one , I could open the other Mocha and also Vegas reacted again

But I think this is more a Boris issue

FWIW, on VP18 build 373 I've had quite a few ctrl-z crashes. I've not been able to detect any certain pattern, and sometimes I can go a week without a single crash, then might have five crashes the next day. It has taught me to ctrl-s often.

This is a separate issue, as my previous 'undo issue' was caused by an incompatible VST effect

There is an issue that the color grading panel creates a long list of undos (in some cases we have seen some memory crashes). This will be fixed in the next update.

@Zaither-P I need an error report with your name and some reproduce steps in the description... or a way to reproduce your issue.

I will work on finding more specific details on how to create the issue.
