@Yelandkeil - I'm "attempting" to follow a fellow VP User and Contributor to these boards, who, in this one instance, does use AAV. So, as you haven't answered my question, am I to presume you neither have it installed nor, therefore, working within VP20? I could go on and test AAV <> CGP, but I'm quietly confident which will win-out. Actually, "Nostalgia" is not what it used to be 😉.

@wwaag - Well I've downloaded - Aav_ColorLab_1_0_rc2_x64.msi - three times, and installed it, three times, but I don't see it within VP20.

RogerS wrote on 11/13/2022, 2:32 AM

It shows up in Fx as normal for me. Win 11 VP 20 x64.

@RogerS - Yeah, well, not for me. Would you kindly supply a SG so I can confirm just where I should be looking. Thanks G!

RogerS wrote on 11/13/2022, 4:40 AM

I checked and I just installed it on a new computer from the same rc2 x64 .msi file. Here it is in VP 20.

It put itself here: C:\Program Files\AAV ColorLab 64-bit

In the release notes it says: The installer should be run as Administrator.

Not sure that helps but it's all I know.

Grazie wrote on 11/13/2022, 9:19 AM

@RogerS - Thank you. I’m not seeing it, really I’m not.

john_dennis wrote on 11/13/2022, 9:38 AM

This thread is of interest to me since I have used AAV ColorLab in the past projects.

wwaag wrote on 11/13/2022, 9:57 AM

@Grazie

Just installed it on my laptop and it shows up in all Vegas versions installed.

@RogerS

Do you, by chance, have any Sony versions of Vegas on the pc on which you installed AAV?

Well, this IS maddening. It doesn't show up in any of the "usual places" for me, but now, when I do a search for AAV, it appears!! What gives?

Grazie wrote on 11/13/2022, 4:46 PM

I can only get AAV to be reveal/seen if I do a Search:

andyrpsmith wrote on 11/13/2022, 5:16 PM

Just tried it V20-214 and I find it under third party tab.

Hi Wwag, no Sony versions on my brand new computer or laptop. I hadn't heard about it back then.

wwaag wrote on 11/13/2022, 9:35 PM

@RogerS

Thanks. Thought @Grazie problem might be due to not having any Sony builds on his system since I have all builds from V12-V20 on mine. Obviously, that was wasn't the problem.

For those wondering:

And I do have a SONY VP13 installed too:

Any further thoughts?

walter-i. wrote on 11/14/2022, 3:19 AM

No further thoughts, I can only confirm that even with my update to VP20 / 214 without my intervention AAV shows up under "third party".

Maybe a new installation of VP 20 / 214 will help

EricLNZ wrote on 11/14/2022, 3:43 AM

Or maybe just a "Factory Reset"?

Grazie wrote on 11/14/2022, 4:49 AM

@EricLNZ - I went one better: Uninstalled the Current Build and reverted to the Previous Build, and the same issue.

No further thoughts, I can only confirm that even with my update to VP20 / 214 without my intervention AAV shows up under "third party".

@walter-i. - Nope. Nothing there either.

Maybe a new installation of VP 20 / 214 will help

@walter-i. The same issue.

However, in FX Window Pane, it appears:

What gives?

Grazie wrote on 11/14/2022, 6:11 AM

I notice that AAV is a DXT Plug. Could this be the issue for me?

jetdv wrote on 11/14/2022, 7:29 AM

DXT is the older "DirectX" type plugins used before OpenFX was introduced in Vegas Pro 10.

Did it offer an option for DirectX vs OpenFX? I've never installed AAV. Based on the other screenshots, it appears that DirectX may be the only option for that plugin.

No. This doesn’t go to answering why “others” have no issue yet I do.

Does it show up in the Sony V 13 version you have installed?
