"...and all that snow back east. I live in Eastern Oregon and I thought that the 6-8 inches we had was bad enough. but MAN that is crazy deep for one storm.... my best wishes for you all may you be safe."Three feet on the ground in Wilmington, DE and the forecasters say it will not stop until midnight tonight. What I wouldn't give for a snowblower right now!

As someone who lives just south of Buffalo, NY, I just have to say... three feet wouldn't even phase us. :D

(enjoy the snow. Wood heat is the best!)

This thread reminds me of the videos that used to be posted on chienworks.com. Vegas users made videos (short films) & we got to see them. That was cool!

You know, this isn't rocket science folks. If you can figure out how to work Vegas Pro you should be able to figure out how to post a pic ;-)

Ah, but people never read much of a thread before posting, so your clear instructions would have been missed. Must say that it is indeed very easy to post an image and, as you can see, you have taught even me how to do it!

On posting pictures every other web site forum has just a click or two and the job is done. This site you have to be a programmer.

phpbb sites

am I missing something?

I give up!

Hey, jazzmasters don't give up. They improvise.

It took me a while to get this, here's a 2 step guide:

1. Upload your pic to a website. I use a drag and drop ftp program. It will now have a URL address, such as http://access/server.com/~graphic.jpg

2. Post to this forum and type, the following, including square brackets, but delete space after img
[img =http://access/server.com/~graphic.jpg]

3. Submit post and watch graphic appear

Sometime back, someone posted the following URL: http://madison.thewikies.com/sonyforumpreview/

It provides a clickable interface that you can properly format posts to this forum. Downside is you need to format your post, then cut the text, return to the forum and paste. But, it definitely takes the pain out of remembering the syntax for posting.

IMHO, worth adding your "favorites" menu.

Jerry, if you invoke the Preview tool while in SCS forum reply mode there is no copy/paste required. I am typing this directly into the reply box using the Preview tool's formatting. There is still a minor downside - the response to your typing is slowed a bit.

I've been out of town for the past month, so I'm a little late, but thought I'd add some more 'youth' to the group. (I'm not that young though, I'm the one in the back)

Not too many pictures of me out there... usually behind the camera.

I don't know why mine isn't showing up. I think I used the right format.
John_Cline wrote on 3/12/2010, 4:12 PM
Since your photo is on a web page and the image can't be directly accessed, you need to link to the page instead. Change "img=" to "link=" that will at least allow someone to click on it and go to the Flickr page.
Jøran Toresen wrote on 3/12/2010, 4:13 PM
L8R, you have to delete the space between img and =

Jøran Toresen

Edit: John is correct, my point was no space before the = sign.

Interesting...No links to pictures show up in Firefox 3.6. I have to go to IE8 to see the links. That's really disappointing.
Jøran Toresen wrote on 3/12/2010, 4:17 PM
Guy, I'm using Firefox 3.6 and have no problems with links / pictures.

Well, found out that Ad Muncher will kill the links in FF but let's them show in IE8. Now that I have filtering disabled for the site, I can see the actual pictures in the posts. Ok, ok, I'm an old fart, too.
