Mark me down as another youth -- no beard, no gray hair.

(Ummm, okay, I just crossed into the realm of 50 last week. Hair definitely thin, waist definitely not, need reading glasses all the time now...)

Think I might be a little late to the party, but here goes...

Never too late to the party, everybody keep them coming...

@Editguy43:
"Hey Tim

Actually, my hair does look dark in the picture. In person, however, the shine and glare of my scalp comes through so much more clearly. Especially in back. :-)

However, I have a theory to submit: I'm just a home hobbyist, and only do a handful of projects each year. It would appear from this thread that full time editors are much more prone to gray hair and hair loss. Hmmmm..... Is there a connection?

John Cline -- Thanks so much for this thread. Several times in the last year or two I've looked up the old thread just as a refresher. It's nice to have an update. Thanks again.

Here is a recent pic. Yep. Grey, balding. But my son just beat the whole school with his science project that he did all of the work on. Proud Dad.

These days i'm mostly a high-stress messaging expert. I can tell you that the last 3 years in this job gave me WAY more gray than the last 20 of media development ever did.

Congrats Dave! Nice to see when your kids do great....

So what was his science project?
corug7 wrote on 2/10/2010, 5:18 AM
@xfx

Look at the picture again and you can clearly see that I'm using a backhand ;-)

Actually, the "client" is my father. If I were to smack him, odds are pretty good I'd be getting smacked back!

Comparison of two pulley setups, lifting the same amount of weight. He wanted to build and elevator, I suggested he should build two! He's 10yo, and in 2 more years the science fairs get serious and can end up with college scholarships at state competition levels.
Chienworks wrote on 2/10/2010, 7:08 AM
Way cool and congrats to him!

I remember building an elevator out of an Erector set and Lego when i was around that age. Sadly we didn't have science fairs back then so the only folks i could show it off to were my family.
