Why no overwrite mode in Vegas ?

Hi,
I use Vegas since version 3 and love it (I really think it is one of the best NLE).
But I stay astonished because there is no overwrite mode to add clip on time line.
All others NLE have this feature.
am I the only one who regret that ?
