Vegas 19 will support Blackmagic Raw
Apparently it will support Blackmagic Raw, but support will still be in beta stage upon release. This is great news for Blackmagic camera owners.

RE: How do I use sapphire ofx effects builder in Vegas Pro
If it is a standalone program, then by that very definition it works as, well, a standalone program and not as a plugin. In any event, from BorisFX's compatibility webpage - https://borisfx.com/products/host-compatibility/ - shows Sapphire Builder

RE: Western Digital Black Edition Performance Drive good enough for 1080p?
Most broadcast houses I know use Sony, Panasonic, GVG (and Canon) cameras and various types of recording devices (EVS, Sony, Blackmagic, etc.). So the recording video types range from XDCAM HD, DVC Pro, ProRes, DNxHD, XAVC (H.264) and others. H.264

RE: Vegas Pro seems great, but I'm ready to throw my PC out the window!
Sorry, these issues have nothing to do with the Vegas app itself. Vegas actually runs without any issues—it's Windows' OS that doesn't seem to be cooperating. The thread is really just me wondering out loud if I should abandon the platform

    EDL nightmare
Hi fellow Vegas users, I was hoping that someone could give me some advice on how to resolve a major issue I am having with a project I am working on. Last week we had a production team come in to shoot a few wedding bands here in NYC for a demo. We

    RE: Gh5 4k 24/30p problem
Have you tried just using the free version of DaVinci Resolve? Yes. That doesn't work as JVC-footage is not supported by Blackmagic. I've got version 16, so unless they changed that in version 17 (which I highly doubt) I only need to upgrade 😀@ JN-

Best practices: Sharing portable SSDs between desktop and laptop?
I read a fairly concerning post (quoted below) from fellow member, Video_flaneur, from the thread, "Can't open project between two computers," regarding the sharing of drives between two computers (I thought this more general title would be more

Key Vegas Pro 18 differences from prior version: I learn something new every day! I just watched this guy's video below, "Differences between Vegas 17 and 18," a pretty good summary of the key differences between Vegas Pro 18 and its

HP Z440 (second PC): Also, note that I do have a pretty decent desktop also (e.g., so multiple display-ports on a laptop is less important). I'm actually really happy with this retired HP Z440 server I got for $499: • Xeon v3 3.5GHz quad-core CPU.•

RE: How good is VEGAS Pro?
You can download Vegas Pro as trial, but with Avid you can get the limited version - Avid Media Composer First - for free, without any time limitations. But it has other limitations (from the top of my head) - 5 bins, 5 video tracks, 8 audio tracks,

RE: Combining FX bundles in a single VMS-install:
Well, I am enjoying the crap out of my new FX plug-ins! I was excited to try NewBlue's DVE-effect. I placed the flying PIP effect on a shot and didn't see any Z-axis position control. I was like, "What?" Then I found it in the image mapper. This

Getting IEEE-1394 FireWIre interfaces to work in Windows 10 (64-bit):
Although much of this information has already been posted, it's scattered among several camera-specific threads, so I thought I'd create a more search-friendly thread with a more general title. Most here have read the excellent

Just curious: How many you have dedicated PCs for running only Vegas?
I began my Vegas journey with a brand-new SSD with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (plus all current updates) on a 3.5GHz Xeon machine with 32GB of ECC RAM—no other applications running on the machine. I just bought VMS build 221 and my

As a brand new user, I bought build 221 and it's my first install of VMS on a brand new machine. Though troubling, it's interesting to hear of system crashes. I have only two applications installed this machine (3.5GHz Xeon quad-core with 32GB ECC

RE: Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K recognized by Vegas' capture tool?
I can capture from Vegas Pro. Again, though I am using an older version card that is not 4k capable so i don't swear it will work with the newer cards. Your codecs are more limited though so I find it better to either capture using the Blackmagic

RE: Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K recognized by Vegas' capture tool?
DougT: So you're able to capture an HDMI-source from the Blackmagic Intensity card from within Vegas Pro? (I'll be upgrading to Vegas Pro soon). All of my HDMI source-video is only 1080p24/240 (all DVCAM is only 480p24). Even if I can't,

RE: Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K recognized by Vegas' capture tool?
I don't know if VMS has the HDV/SDI capture option, but using that in Vegas Pro, I can capture from a Blackmagic Intensity HDMI (not 4k). You might try that. I can also capture using Virtualdbub.

I get the exact same error when choosing ".MOV" as an output format on a Xeon 3.5GHz/32GB-build (full-specs in sig) running Vegas Movie Studio 17 (build 221). Happens consistently (doesn't ever not happen). My install of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is
