  @Mindmatter Tried a render of a 4k project (an obs 4k avc remuxed screen-capture) with your settings on my laptop... no problem. Could be the Nvidia driver version if yours are too old. You can check the Voukoder site for the minimum Nvidia driver

  @KiKoMaSo A gpu will only participate in decoding if you set Vegas to use it in the i/o screen and if your footage is something it knows how to decode. Nvidia can decode 8-bit avc and 10-bit hevc fine if the chroma is 4:2:0. Intel igpus are similar
