RE: VP18 - Notes on the 8 bit full level option
Technical correction LUTs for log files (such as those provided by the manufacturer) should work with 8-bit full enabled, and every other NLE works the same way as far as I'm aware (In my experience, I can tell you luts work on log files but not as

RE: VEGAS Pro 18 Update 5 (build 527)
I managed to get Pluraleyes 4 in, but multi-cam editing seems to be working really badly since the update. The moment I switch to enable multicam editing in VP18 the framerates of the preview window drop to about 10FPS, and even if I put preview

RE: Marrying external audio to Video clips so they are seen as one file
Trying to visualize how I'd approach it if I were stuck with your challenge. When I do live sound for musicals, I tend to work off the script and map out a mixer snapshot of a new sub-scene whenever an actor enters or exits the stage. A similar

RE: Marrying external audio to Video clips so they are seen as one file
Call me old fashioned but when I shoot multicam concerts with a stage full of mics and electronic instruments, I just throw it all into Vegas and do both the audio mix and cuts between cameras right there. I generally start with my A-cam and align

RE: Marrying external audio to Video clips so they are seen as one file
Is there a way to Marry 24 channels of audio to 4 channels of video where they are all stored as takes in one file that is openable in the trimmer. There are several ways to do this. In your case I would do the following:   After synchronizing all

    RE: Multicam editing
wow-I'll check that-again, I just don't see why Vegas is so complicated when a cheap software like Powerdirector plays and edits my same clips with their multicam flawlessly right out of the gate. Granted Vegas has a lot more professional aspects

    RE: Multicam editing
@chuck-thomas agree w/RogerS on settings. Also, to maximize Vegas multicam performance, make sure your clips are in a format Vegas can use your hardware gpu to decode and that it's in fact decoding that way. Look in Task Manager, Performance charts

What settings did you change exactly? What is your CPU model number? i7 could be 10 years old. What does preferences/file i/o say for decoding? What media are you using? Use Media Info text mode to answer: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo Did you

    Multicam editing
I have an i7 3.2Ghz cpu with 32 Gb RAM-I just purchased Vegas Pro 18-In multicam I have Googled for help and changed settings as advised but it is still quirky-lags when I change clips so it's impossible to get the right clip high lighted at the

RE: Multi Camera Sync is greyed out Vegas Pro 18
Unless you have SMPTE timecode or a recognized timestamp, the sync options will remain greyed out and you will need to align the corresponding frames by hand. To enable different tracks for multicam editing, you must select them first. We suggest

RE: What is The Best Way to Colour Balance, With White or Grey?
You really need to go by by the color temperature meter's instructions. When shooting Canon I've always used it as my color temp meter and calibrated with a white card in accordance with their guidance for creating a white balance preset. Then set

RE: Multi-camera (stream) editing using Build 482
Glad you found again how it works for you but nothing is wrong with the latest build concerning the multicam editing.I think some of your settings (File I/O?) are not the right ones, but that is up to you.

No idea, 3 DJI UHD files in a UHD multicam project runs, shows and edits fluently on laptop with Video and File I/O options set to default.

RE: BMD adds HEVC 422 hardware decoding for Intel (+482 update)
I'm able to edit 4K ProRes 422 multicam in VEGAS 18 without proxies with a full resolution QFHD preview at full frame rate, that's what's so good about it. No HEVC format can touch that, even with hardware decoding in VEGAS. Not to mention, ProRes

RE: BMD adds HEVC 422 hardware decoding for Intel (+482 update)
Personally, I don't get much about the hype with ProRes; for me this has been primarily an Apple format, and VPs strength was always PC based. I'm not keen on changing systems and dropping $3000 on an Apple Afterburner card that only works in

RE: Add media at playhead position while playing back the timeline
You can line up the clips on tracks before multicam for where you want them to start. But no, you wouldn't do 100 clips that way. It's best for a roll- shots of the musicians playing. You can drop in b roll manually.

RE: Add media at playhead position while playing back the timeline
What about the multicam feature. It enables you to select media by pressing a number as it plays. Lay out the clips on their own tracks and then create a multicam track. You can expand the tracks back out later.

@star_wyvern I think I started doing a workflow video once but only did the audio side mostly focused on Vegas. See: https://vimeo.com/448757781. I should get back to that some day. 😀 But I can give you a rough verbal summary. Generally set the

RE: OK.... Where's all the RED CAR?
Of course it depends on what you use Vegas for, but I find the Red Car the most representative of how I use it. Which is to edit multicam footage that I shoot. More so than any other Vegas benchmark I've seen. It's only failing is that the camera
