RE: [Solved] GoPro Studio Cineform Color Bit Depth Gain?
It is impossible to "recover" bits that were never encoded. There is no such thing as "effective bit gain." Unless you believe in dragons that fly. I think you are confusing Protune, which is ten bits GoPro in an 8 bit wrapper, with normal 8 bit

[Solved] GoPro Studio Cineform Color Bit Depth Gain?
From other threads on this forum Ive read that using GoPro Studio to convert Hi Rez video into Cineform can "effectivly" recover two more bits of color depth from the compressed MP4 camera data.  That is, Cineform based video out from GoPro Studio

RE: [Solved] Best Input Format as Digital Intermediate Supported by Movie Studio
I see Cineform and Grass Valley HQX in my Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13, so I must have installed the codecs (GoPro Studio at the time). As for XAVC Intra, (S)MSP 13 has only XAVC S. The link below discusses the "Steam Powered" versions, but it's

Good morning, I'm having the same issue in 4K with my setup.i7-9700K, 32GB DDR4 RAM, nVidia RTX 4070, NVME SSD. In 2.7K no problem, but in 4K the preview is dragging. In simple preview it goes well but it's ugly.In "good/complete" preview it drags

RE: CPU and GPU decoding video preview
The Nvidia 4070ti cannot decode hevc if it's 4:2:2... only 4:2:0. You might want to check MediaInfo to see what your footage is. Also check your cpu... if it has an onboard Intel Iris or uhd750 or later igpu, just configure Vegas in i/o prefs to use

RE: Vloggers/Youtubers, what camera + capture method do you use for Vegas?
@KKS Hi. I have a sort of similar setup. I currently use a BlackMagic Decklink Mini 4K Recorder, with a Sony HDR AX-53 attached. Though, when I record, I utilize OBS with a custom setting for ProRes: It works well when I use it, though the

Guys thank you so much. I endedup using 30fps and this gave a decent video and saved my project. This leads me to my next question going forward on new projects . Should i now be shooting at 50fps on my cameras? (as mentioned above my setups are

RE: Sony Vegas pro 13 won't open files shot with GoPro 11.
Sony Vegas Pro 13 was released some 8 years ago and GoPro 11 (2022) uses a modern version of HEVC (H.265) for 4K/5.3K video. If you are recording UHD in your GoPro 11 (thus HEVC), then its HEVC codec is well beyond the capabilities of Vegas Pro

    RE: HEVC LAG PREVIEW
Because HEVC is a very compressed codec, NLEs such as vegas Pro usually have a much harder time processing it. There are several YouTube videos explaining HEVC - such as this one: With 5.3K GoPro HEVC video, I experience the same sort of stuttering

RE: Ultimate PC Build for Stability Advice
A new PC (I just got a i9-14900K setup - see signature) won't necessarily make Vegas 18 (or 21) more stable. You still have to configure Vegas to get the best performance from your graphics card. However, I'm experiencing better stability with the

@Former user Thanks, you prompted me to update my profile for versions of VEGAS Pro I use. Addtionally, my comment to @joshua-noesser was more for his issue of "trimming" in the timeline, or my guess is his ability to "edit" the footage (note -

I have a high spec pc, but still have to proxy 4k footage currently It rather depends on what media is being used on the timeline and what choices you have selected in Options/Preferences/File I/O. For example, using HEVC 4K video from a GoPro Hero
