RE: 1080HD on 4K timeline?
My experience with Upscaling is that the result is not worth the time it takes, especially in Vegas. Made some experience with Topaz, the same. Yesterday I combined as a test 1080p50 from my old Pana with 2160p50 from my new Osmo-pocket 3 in a 4k

RE: Need a script for changing media's alpha channel.
@john_dennis the important line here is Color Space: RGBA The images MUST have "transparency" to show. Often, I make my icons and then just make one pixel transparent to make sure it saves as RGBA out of the photo editor.

[Solved] Does using the Utilities Tab for color corrections slow render times?
I noticed that using the Utilities tab to make corrections to video tracks seems to slow render times significantly. No issues using the these controls to create a LUT and then using the LUT. However, making adjustments with these controls seems to

RE: Feature Request: Coloured Markers on Timeline
Same for me - regions were a second color. I have produced a huge documentary, where it was necessary to find detailed content on the timeline. Markers were some way to organize that. But markers are only the beginning - and too rough in many

RE: Color grading in Vegas
Inspired by Woflgang I tried editing the older video as if it were Slog 3. That seems to be right for the tone curve but not for color. VEGAS doesn't really have tools to mix and match different gamuts and gammas. Straight out of camera (left) vs

Some Day/Year Will Vegas Go HDR10?!
In V23 1, Ruler marker doesn't match time/frame. It shifts the marker between Frames so that I must set my grid snap to Frames. 2,Color range doesn't change when manual adjusted. It impacts all source material no matter whether the interpretation

RE: Missing bt709 tags rendering "limited" from 32 bit full
@Yelandkeil I think he's making changes to the footage that is breaking the 16-235 limits and seeing these screenshots would confirm that. However VEGAS 23 does change the levels in 32 bit video mode if the extended color space conversions are

RE: VEGAS Pro Feature Requests
@wiel-gulpen yes, it will require more work for sure. But the results will be superior. It's tough sometimes shooting where you would need a strong ND filter to get what you are looking for. I've shot mountains and sky, and having to work with

RE: VP21 b300 - VP22. Still unresolved bugs with 4K MXF and HEVC files
The customer is not interested in the color range, but whether the video can be interesting and whether they like it. This is the most important. And what will think your customers about vsync? If they do not care about color, what will they say

RE: Vegas color grading vs other tools
Not really, as their design is completely different. I'd like them do offer the chosen / respective hue's saturation and luma. There could then be one set for each color you pick, preferably like at least 8 colors sets. Ideally also a slider to

RE: Color Grading - HSL or HSV
if you want a true Luminance adjustment in Color Grading, use the "Hue vs. Luminance" curve, and create a curve with a single point. Moving that point vertically will revise the Luminance values of all Hues in the image.

Broadcast Safe - V22 vs V17
Here's a screen shot of a clip rendered in MXF format in V22 with the "Broadcast Color" filter applied to the master bus in order to bring the levels to broadcast safe. That clip was rendered in V22 and it looks fine on the scopes before rendering.

RE: Adding stereo audio files can massively slow down Vegas
@RogerS thanks for trying to help. I can't confirm the color grading issue, but I've noticed in the past that long, complex projects can really make Vegas choke. It's gradual, but becomes noticeable explixctely when adding stereo audio files for

RE: VEGAS Pro 23 build 278 General Discussion
@vasile-hertely It is possible to copy and paste the entire timeline from VP 23 to VP 22 or 21 if you have them installed, though you really shouldn't have to.If you see any common issues causing render crashes I'd love to troubleshoot that more.

RE: Neat Video - will it work in VP22? if no, alternatives?
Since you start with H.265 10bit 420 (or is it 422?), you should try to maintain the color subsampling. So Prores 420 (or Prores 422 if you start from 422) can be nice.

We were playing with the idea of using ProRes for proxies. It renders and can be read quickly and efficiently, it offers flexibility with color space info and is fairly easy to use in Vegas.
