RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
@Old Smoke: Somehow I managed to accidentally lose audio/video sync during my marathon edit sessions. So I ran Plural Eyes again. I wasn't sure how it would behave in multicam mode, but I crossed my fingers. I think it succesfully sync'ed the hi-Q

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
I think I figured it out, but here's a screenshot anyway. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMq6OSVS-I_6L47OsZoTuthOhbBaqX0YswCD_ZH Note the deep, foreboding blackness of the preview pane. I expected to see the wide image of the stage seen the

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
It think it's not the track which is muted but the event itself. Right-click the event and see if muting is selected under "Switches". When you expand to multiple tracks after multicam editing there will be a choice where you'd be asked whether or

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
I tried multicam, and it is definitely the way to go. I scrapped the previous work and started over, but still saved time overall. So thanks Nick & Old Smoke for the suggestion. I used Plural Eyes to sync up cam1, cam2, and hq audio before going

RE: V14 free if I buy v13?
The "buy MSP 13 + get 14 free" special offer which was extended a couple of times is not valid any more AFAIK. So I don't think you'd get v.14 free, if you buy v.13 now. This article should give you a good idea of the differences between MSP and

RE: Streamlined Neat Video Workflow with Vegasaur
I apply NV once I am done with all the editing. I render an intermediate XAVC-I file, check if that is ok and only apply once NV to the whole final file. This way, you don't have to render sections of a clip that you are not using therefore further

RE: Undo multi-camera editing
Teaktart, Vegas is already pushing the envelope on buffers for many users' systems including mine. One wouldn't necessarily find the process fun or productive even if there were expanded editing features on the multicam track. In a single-machine

RE: Undo multi-camera editing
@altervic. Not sure, I think it does retain the cuts and you are asked if you would like to keep the muted portions of the video event or not. I don't think it will restore the full video clips length per camera like you had before you created the

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
I'd hate to lose pan/crop. You don't lose it, you just have to reapply/apply it on every event you need it. If you need to correct a tilt over the whole media, it will be easier to apply the pan/crop before you make the multicam track, render it to

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
"Can you elaborate on pan/crop? I use it extensively as a virtual cinematographer for my unmanned 4K camera. I'd hate to lose pan/crop" When you switch to Multicam editing, any effects you have applied at the track or event level will be removed.

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
Thanks, OldSmoke. It's good too get your insight. I'm glad to hear that multicam is effective for a 2-camera shoot. I'll dig deeper into it. Can you elaborate on pan/crop? I use it extensively as a virtual cinematographer for my unmanned 4K camera.

RE: Undo multi-camera editing
Actually it's quite easy to undo a multicam edit and retain the synchronization between the cameras. Go to an event in the multicam track that has all cameras. Highlight and copy it. Insert a new video track and past the event at the same location

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
Multicam editing isn't difficult and I even use it for two cameras too. In fact, it is much easier than what you are attempting. Just keep in mind that all effects and pan/crop, event and track level are lost when you do a multicam track. But, Media

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
Thanks, Nick. I actually viewed a great tutorial on multicam in Vegas, but the author defined multicam as "more than 2 cameras", and the demo was a 6-camera shoot. It looks amazingly powerful, and I'd like to learn it eventually, but the learning

Maybe you should use Vegas' multicam functionality. Search the online help or manual for "multicamera". I have never used that funtionality myself.

RE: Jittery multi camera monitoring
WSS, I'd be curious what happens if you do a mixdown of just the audio, import to another audio track and delete or mute the original audio and see if the issue still happens. I've noticed minor/odd glitches w/ intermittant crashes when I have lots

RE: before I jump to V14 - has the preview playback improved?
I have Vegas 12 , Vegas 14, CS6 and EDIUS 8.3WG on my PC. I can confirm that EDIUS is much faster than Vegas 14. I do not use proxies and most of my source files are XAVC-S or AVCHD normally multicam with 3 or 4 cameras. I mainly use EDIUS for video

(FAQ) How can I make my video preview play smoothly in VEGAS Pro?
Your preview playback frame rate is displayed below the preview and in some cases it may be less than your project frame rate, causing the picture to stutter or lag. There are a number of things you can try to improve the smoothness of your

Preview multiple streams in preview window (Vegas 14)

RE: Multicamproblem with effects
Nice explanation Set. This should be a stickie. T.aurus, I generally apply all effx (dissolves and others) after the multicam cut. I don't know if there is a way to save dissolves or transitions after when expanding back to multi tracks.
