  If you're doing ongoing render speed comparisons with Resolve you have to keep in mind Resolve uses both your 4090 encoders while Vegas and Voukoder currently only use the 1. You'd have to force single encoder via your choice of encode or resolution

  What kind of AI do you do? I am doing transcriptions with Faster-Whisper and am very impressed with CUDA on my 2080 Super. It's incredibly fast. I don't really use the AI effects in VEGAS. I do use NeatVideo and a better GPU may help there, too.For

  @Former user: AV1 support is currently being developed, but was not quite ready for the initial release of VEGAS Pro 21. We are hope to have this ready to release for an update to VP 21 before the end of the year assuming all testing goes well. ok

  Do the black frames show up in a media player as well? I did test renders with AV1 and hadn't noticed any issues with it. I can test more later. @RogerS No, the rendered files play fine in media players

  @Howard-Vigorita @RogerS   I used the preset settings that were set in Vegas Pro 21 for rendering in av1 and avc. I will soon do the same test with hevc and proreg. I will include the settings and file length used.

  I have rendered a 3840x2160-50p raw file (link) using internal Magix av1 and svtav1 using frameserver. 1/ I convert the raw file to a lossless magicyuv420 to be able to import it on Vegas timeline 2/ Result 3/ The Vegas av1 file bitrate is very low

  By the way, I tested Voucoder's AV1 encoder with an 8k file. Extremely fast and relatively small file, but apparently "only" 1920x1080. Have I overlooked setting options? I encoded an 8192 x 3456 video to AV1(hardware) it encoded at that resolution.

  How did you render the av1? The new Magix vp21 encoder? If you used Voukoder or something else, what settings? You should match bitrates/file sizes to level the playing field. If you use Voukoder, you can adjust the bitrate by looking at file sizes
