Voukoder installer for VP 21 now available

RogerS wrote on 8/19/2023, 1:26 AM

If you used the versatile render tool Voukoder and don't want to manually copy over files from an older version of VEGAS, download the new connector for 21 here.

(New users: install both the connector and Voukoder to be able to use it. Access it from the render as settings in VEGAS).

@RogerS

The Voukder download section is somewhat confusing..... especially reading the sites note about the version and reading forums. The latest version appears to read 3.0, yet there is a 3.1 version I believe. Which works for you?

The latest properly working version of Voukoder is 13 and the latest connector is 1.6.0- click on the VP 21 link on the right-hand side.

13.1 was pulled due to a bug.

I would like that Voukoder becomes part of Vegaspro. An indispensable tool like Mediainfo.

@3POINT - Yes.

Yes! And promote it from plugin to full feed. The same for FrameServer.

Voucoder's ..2007-config... file I had already moved by hand into VP 21 Pro's program directory, the usual trick. With the slightly modified installer, this is now automatic, of course.

By the way, I tested Voucoder's AV1 encoder with an 8k file. Extremely fast and relatively small file, but apparently "only" 1920x1080. Have I overlooked setting options?

In Video Deluxe 2024 Premium (Magix Movie Studio Suite outside Germany) I could select all resolutions from 160x120 to 7680*4320 in the render process.

Unfortunately I only have a screenshot in german language, but you can recognize the principle....

Disclaimer: Still have this program because I started with it years ago; in addition to the content of intros/outros, pictures, transitions, etc. is currently Vitascene V5 Pro included (which costs considerably more than the Magix Suite when purchased directly from Prodad) and also offers with Travel Maps a very useful additional program for travel route animation. I hope that with this explanation my partial deviation from the Vegas world is excused....

I encoded an 8192 x 3456 video to AV1(hardware) it encoded at that resolution. If you are not having some strange bug, then it means you didn't actually have your project set to 8K resolution, Voukoder encodes at project resolution. @frmax

You are right, my template was derived from HD preset, now I made a customized template with "Video project default" and a 8k Video was rendered, my bad, not voukoder!

You are welcome to get there from the Voukoder homepage and Firefox and Chrome give no such warning from the link I shared. https://www.voukoder.org You can tell whatever popped up that it's a false positive.

@RogerS Do you know what are the differences between Voukoder 12.1 vs 13? What have developers improved in Voukoder 13?

If you are bored, drink water, you will want to pee. -> Albert Einstein - my idol!

I am 42. I have been creating videos since 2009 (the date when my first daughter was born in). My first video software was Pinnacle, next one was Sony Vegas 8 (I am not sure if remember it correctly). I am also a developer and wedding movie operator and editor. For example: I have created an Android app which let me control Vegas Pro rendering progress level on Android smartphone. I created it for fun, because I also love programming. I also created my own plugin for Audio To Text feature specified usage from Vegas Pro 19. I created proxy creation plugin which uses multiple GPU threads (maximum 3) to create proxy files for Vegas Pro. I also written many others plugin/softwares which enhance my video editing, also wedding editing.

Camera/video camera: Sony FX3, Sony A7 III, Sony FDR AX 100, Canon 5D Mark III, GoPro Hero Black 7,8,9,10

Lenses for Sony: Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III , Sony 24mm gm 1.4 FE, Sony 20 mm G FE 1.8

Lenses for Canon: Canon EF 24-70 mm F/2.8 L USM, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L

Drone: DJI Mavic 3 & DJI Phantom 4 Pro v2.0

Editing: Vegas Pro 20 (365) with a lot of third party plugins, also my own plugins written in C#

Windows system: 10 Home edition

I can't remember. There is a changelog, no? Think it's bug fixes and updating encoder libraries. At some point the presets were redone and made more useful.
