Hi all
working on and completing a recent mutlicam project, I had a couple of ideas that came up when I ran intio a few more or less minor issues I came to consider as not practical.
In general, I find Vegas to work really well and easy for multicam. What I'd really like to see / add though, is that the multicam track is a "virtual track" with its usual functionalities like the cams in splitscreen etc, BUT with the original tracks running intact underneath, reflecting the cuts and fades made in the multicam track in real time. That way, you could do things like PIP, needed FX and much needed corrections etc on single events right away all while remaining in multicam mode. I can see no good reason why, once the tracks reexpanded for final corrections, all edits, FX etc are LOST when you want to get back to the multicam track functionality, like when you want to reedit things that way. Why is it not possible to save and restore the edits to be able to get back to the multicam track mode?
Yes I know you can still work ion the single expanded tracks and events, but it's rather tedious.
Also, it seems like I cannot reseparate the audio tracks when reexpanding the tracks to normal. They seem to be there ( some where muted before ceating the single track) but hidden under one single audio track. Is there something I'm missing?
What are your thoughts on the Vegas multicam editing?
Thanks!
