hey, vegas support staff. I have had this problem before... It's a thing where when I open up my editing software (Vegas 18) and it cuts all sound/audio off my pc. For example my Spotify audio cut and after a few seconds it reconnects. I also can't hear the people in my discord calls until I leave and join the call I'm in. And the thing that irritates me the most is that my GeForce clips don't have audio in them, if I clip something only after I restart my pc I can begin to clip with sound, the way I fixed it before was hardware resetting my hole pc but I CBA to do that rn. (i know it's not a virus because I have Norton 360 running in the background of my pc and I ran malware bytes when I realised I had the problem)
