This is VERY AWESOME! Changing lines 97&98 works too. I can't wait to play with this more! THANK YOU!

How do you install the script? I unziped it and don't know how to install it. Please help. Thank you.

Easy run script from Tools - Scripting - Run script ... and select this script from your own folder.

Or copy stript to this directory:

c:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 16.0\Script Menu\

And when you already have Vegas Pro running then menu: Tools - Scripting - Rescan Script Menu Folder.
Otherwise only run Vegas Pro and new script is appear in the menu (as I wrote above).

Multi Motion Tracking does not work.

1. Single method is great.

2. Multi Motion Tracking is not ideal. You can not select "Mask 1-5" in your script.

Magix, please add this window.

I'm also noticing that the team is being more vocal and interacting with the community more lately... I suppose it is easier to do when 3/4 of them aren't calling for your head on a plate due to app breaking bugs. Either way, it is helping build good faith in the community for them to see you interacting with them and answering their questions, it makes them feel like you are listening. More of this, please! The right changes are being made, and not just to the code.

Some fantastic suggestions are being made in this thread!

Hi Pierre,

I have created 5 new scripts that copy from Mask1,2,3,4 or 5.

What do you think is better: To have one script with an additional question, which mask you would like to copy or 5 scripts, one for each mask?

I think this would differ dependend on the way you work. I'd probably prefer single scripts for each single mask as this would allow for a faster workflow when using buttons or keystrokes to recall the script(s).

And thanks again for these scripts!

Hi Harold. Thanks for the scripts.

5 files in script - selection is fast.
Better would be this ....

Test your script with 4 mask. waaaau!!!!!! :-)

I love Beta testing!

Can you overwrite script for Video Event Pan / crop?
Without PIP FX.

Please.

Hi Pierre,

yes, looks nice what you propose. Unfortunately it is not easy to do (at least for me. It is the first time I am dealing with C# and windows forms and scripting for VEGAS).

Here is an attempt to use the buttons to select the mask. To be honest, it is not nice...

and, thank you for testing and providing feedback

Harold

Remark: I think, Magix team will comeup with a much better solution soon...

@pierre-k @Harold-Linke

Just you just create a folder and put all the scripts inside it and then put it in Script Menu.

I also want to thank for the 5 scripts created. Great job!

@Joelson-Forte

Thank you. This is really much easier to use.

Harold

An important fact:

Rotation and size is not supported in thist script. Please for full support in next Beta version.

and please, without PIP FX. :-)

Joelson-Forte and Harold-Linke - good job!

It is no secret that we are improving this beta script by the user feedback for the next update... but keep in mind it is only a workaround for a native VP16 solution.

Btw... The "picture in picture" script could also added to any media generator FX (e. g. text).

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN THE whole 11 years I've been using this software? This is a really nice new feature for sure and I hope Vegas Pro really deploys this well into the software!

lan-mLMC wrote on 9/25/2018, 9:02 AM

There's one advantage if you manually apply the PiP FX before calling the script: You can easily adjust your desired frame size and offset within that same PiP FX. I like that way.

The adjustment can be complished in Pan/Crop anytime.

Leo-Koutakis wrote on 10/3/2018, 1:17 AM

Yes! that's exactly what i needed!

digfish wrote on 10/3/2018, 3:56 AM

My first commercial use of the feature :)

I used it to stick the software UI to this scene in a video ... 0:12 Really happy this exists.

Seems silly to bury it under masking tho. This should be an effect of its own out in the open. It would also be more efficient if you could LINK to existing motion keyframes in the project rather than this copying stuff.

It would also be nice if this could be printed to 3D rotations of objects. I'd imagine you select the vertices of some object in the scene and you specify its approx shape then the 3D tracking is calculated.

Here I had to manually add some 3D corrections as the laptop rotated to keep perspective correct.

fr0sty wrote on 10/7/2018, 2:00 PM

Nice, I watched the video first, and didn't even notice that the image had been tracked onto the screen like that until I read your post. I'd expect the 3D planar tracking to come in a future update, this is likely just laying the foundation for things to come. In the mean time, if you need that 3D tracking, Mocha has a Vegas plugin... but it's kinda pricey.

awpenheimer wrote on 11/8/2018, 2:14 AM

When I try to run the script (trying to track an explosion in my event), I get the error that "Exception thrown by method called". Is there a fix to this? Thanks!

sebastianS wrote on 11/8/2018, 6:18 AM

For clearification, the beta script or the script which is provided with VP16 Update 2?

trymelvo wrote on 12/16/2018, 7:19 AM

Ehm i cant see any download button, and how do you install it?

sebastianS wrote on 12/17/2018, 1:48 AM

That script is now part of Vegas 16.

dani-w wrote on 12/18/2018, 7:54 AM

How do i download this?
