That file when rendered does not work in DVD-A, I need to make that happen. ( Installed and checked)
I have Vegas 12 , that still works, and so I have a escape route, but seems pointless if I edit in VP18 then have to output a WAV , then convert to AC3, seems a mess.
I have output the latest project 70minutes with the audio as an MPEG2 & that is fine, but when a two hour show comes along it will not fit on a DVD unless I use an AC3 file, (lessons form the past) unless there are good settings to get a a decent picture at 120 minutes with audio

Any way around to get an output from VP18 onwards into an AC3 into DVD-A,
DVD's are still required in some places.

I posted else where as I was not sure if the post would end up in that forum or every where...

DVD-A is DVD architect? In the other thread Joelson wrote that he did burn it with DVD architect. Can you screenshot your Voukoder settings?

Zulqar_Cheema wrote on 2/2/2022, 8:11 AM

I have it sorted, two issues so am happy to say the least.. works in DVD-A Now
Thanks for your input

AUDIO TAB
Encoder = AC3
Options = b=192000 copyright=1 dialnorm=-31 original=1
Filters = NONE
OUTPUT TAB
Transport Stream (.ts)

1: Voukoder outputs AC3 at 44.1khz, DVD-a wants it at 48Khz. If I change the Vegas output to 41.1Khz, it no longer works on DVD-A, ( on Voukoder  output set to AC3, Codec AC3)

I see AC-3 as a render option in VEGAS Pro 19. The "Pro" options have been removed but the I still see AC-3 and AC-3 AGC On.

You could also just render to WAV and let DVDA compress it to AC-3. Personally, I just usually output the audio in the MPG2 file and let DVDA convert it.

@Zulqar_Cheema

1.Your audio 1 rendered in Voukoder will not be recognized by DVD Architect as it is at 44.100khz

2.Your audio 2 rendered in Voukoder will be recognized by DVD Architect but will undergo a new conversion as it is at 44.100khz in a .TS container.

The ac3 audio standard for DVD Architect is 48.000khz with .ac3 extension

Any value different from this will not be accepted by DVD Architect or will undergo a new conversion as informed by the @jetdv

I was hoping that I did not need to do that, as it more time in the render process and maybe more losses.
The AC3 file was great staring to render in less than a minute for the whole DVD

Is there no way to make the Vaukoder output AC3 at 48Khz?

I di that this time as the program was only 70 minutes, but I will be guessing what bit rates to use to get a video onto DVD-A depending on its duration, as I have all this sorted. Plus the extra conversion time.

DVD-A still complaining the file size is to large , but go ahead if you want to on 3.8Gb size file.

Great question. I couldn't quickly figure this out in Voukoder myself. I suggest creating a thread in the Voukoder forum as either a bug fix or general question as it should be possible.

Just go to the project properties in Vegas and set the audio to 48,000khz. Voukoder will apply the project settings.

Voukoder is good

Best Dolby Digital AC3 Pro :

Here's a step-by-step for VP17. For VP1* just change the number.

1. Copy the C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 13.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\ac3plug\ folder (or ac3plug folder from old Sound Forge) to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\ (if you have the Magix VP13 build 545 then the folder location may be different)

2. Copy C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\Release-x64.fio2007-config to your Documents folder or somewhere you have full write permissions.

3. Add a line to the top of the file in a text editor such as Notepad so it looks like this:

[FileIO Plug-Ins]
ac3plug=FileIO Plug-Ins\ac3plug\ac3plug.dll
ac3studioplug=FileIO Plug-Ins\ac3studioplug\ac3studioplug.dll
aifplug=FileIO Plug-Ins\aifplug\aifplug.dll
.....
4. Copy the edited Release-x64.fio2007-config back to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0, overwriting the original version.

Notes:

1. You need DVD Architect installed for either this or the old workaround to function.

Another technique is to upload your 5.1 audio as wav to YouTube . Youtube will encode both AC3 and Enhanced AC3 audio tracks. If your destination was Youtube then job is done, if it wasn't you can then download either of the surround tracks and append o to the video file using something like shutter encoder. I haven't tried this, it should work, but would need to check timings. Using voukoder would seem best unless you want an Enhanced AC3 track

EDIT: I had a look at Voukoder audio settings, it does every surround sound audio setting under the sun, no need for YT

Hi all,

anyone is able to export in AC3 (5.1) via AC3 Pro? (When I click render nothing happen: no errors, no windows, ecc.)

  • Magix Vegas 20.0.411
  • ac3plug.dll --> 1.0.0.6460
  • ac3studioplug.dll --> 20.0.0.411

Thanks!

PS

I don't be able to export also in FLAC (5.1), Why? (I don't see 5.1 option in list, only stereo options)

My workaraound is export in "Sony Wave64" (very BIG file!) and then in Ac3/FLAC via ffmpeg

Voukoder sees 0 channels and not 6 (5.1). Anyway it exports AC3 5.1 very well.
