got a quick question do you all leave anything running in the background while you edit, like firefox ect.. I was wondering if that might be an issue as I always run web browser while I edit.

It's never affected me much. I've recorded loads of VEGAS demos with OBS running.

got a quick question do you all leave anything running in the background while you edit, like firefox ect.. I was wondering if that might be an issue as I always run web browser while I edit.

Also has never been a problem for me. It's rare for me not to be running Firefox, and often various other programs too, while editing in VEGAS.

joseph-desaavedra wrote on 10/4/2019, 1:08 PM

okay just a thought sometimes it is the obvious things that are biting me in the ass. I guess if I run it I need to edit down to the part where it crashes or you think you all will want the entire file in mass.

Here is another crash, in this one I show all my settings before resuming where I left off. it is not too long and is a classic crash with no error report generated like the last. just hung and went white screen.

It can show, depending on its settings, all kind of differences with or without some changies in the events. If you don't use that >>>> uncheck it. it takes memory.

I did not even realize it was on.. I looked at the manual and it pretty much said it was on or off is all I could find, well back to the edit and will screen grab everything up till it crashes again. thanks..I love this NLE if it did not crash so much.

well it crashed again. Obviously the last one #7 is where it froze at. The settings are unchanged since the second crash. I am going to stop recording as at it getting late and I need to finish. If you want me to make more just let me know, or questions or helpful suggestions would be appreciated.. anything to make this work.. and remember I have been working this same problem for weeks now.

Just guessing, but looks like a UI timing glitch/bug. Seems to happen either right after you have hovered "off-screen" over the firefox icon (window focus switched?) or while you are rapidly changing zoom levels (what keys are you using to do this?)

Will try to re-create here.

I am on V16 and I am not that familiar with multicam - hopefully someone else can test & comment.

IIRC there have been issues like this in the past with multicam & UI memory leaks. Vegas 15?

I will keep testing. I feel like you are on the right track. Keep a watch on what you are doing with the UI.

joseph-desaavedra wrote on 10/4/2019, 8:30 PM

as you see I am not using the multicam feature integrated into VP what I am doing is taking three video tracks syncing them, using the best sound track grouping them and deleting the other two sound tracks and cutting the video track where I want to swich, I then fade the two video tracks I do not want to see and leavin only one in the foreground, I have have tried the multicam feature integrate and found it unwieldy and slow and also crash pone even in version 16.
