With the latest version of Vegas i been struggling to edit videos due to the Extreme Lag on Preview, i use now HVEC Vídeos but i get alot of lag, even when i use the lowest quality preview.

Graphic cards updated maxily.

Nvidia GTX 1660 - 6GB

Intel Intel i5-10400F - SixCore 2.90Ghz

RAM - 16GB 2666 MHz CL19 Team Group Elite

Windows 11 Pro

Also i have activated the HVEC Legacy and also AVC Legacy, both having extremily lag, but the videos are in 4k, but even when i test them in 1080p it still lags alot...

I'd keep file io on defaults in 21.315 for HEVC with NVIDIA.

Can you say more about the Hevc file? Is it a screen capture? 10 bit? Media Info would be helpful.

Legacy = "old". You want to use the new decoders. Make sure you're using VEGAS 21, build 315 as well, as it decodes a lot faster than older versions.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

@DyogoCosta The latest versions of Vegas 21 do not have a legacy-hevc option. Vp21 build 108 was the last one. Builds 208 and 315 have an experimental-hevc option, however. I've been sticking to build 208 myself because it's much faster with hevc than build 315.

If you're actually using the latest version of vp20, it's legacy-hevc option, which is checked by default, is similar in quality and performance compared to vp21 build 208 which defaults to all boxes unchecked. You'll probably get best performance with vp20 by unchecking legacy-hevc but the quality will be somewhat lower... suggest you try it both ways and see if the quality drop is noticeable.
