If I had known much earlier that Grazie speak for freeze = Kludges then this could have been addressed much earlier.

@Former user - My apologies.

Yes, I'm "Skylake", so no option to switch.

@Grazie

Can you clarify ... With HW Acc. What's the playback rate for the 40%, is it about full less 3 frames?

Also did you try switching from The Nvidia Creator driver to the Nvidia Gaming driver. This worked for me on the laptop which has no effective intel Gpu.

@Former user Please explain: "is it about full less 3 frames?" ?

Grazie wrote on 7/12/2019, 3:42 AM

@Former user The Playback rate in Reg5 quickly Builds to 29 then can Freeze or then on subsequent Loops it Freezes.

Cheers

@Grazie

“All regions except R5 almost immediately, maybe 3 frames, get to100%.”

I was simply referencing your earlier statement and I don’t know exactly what it means.

Ok, thats it. So you’re playback rate is as good as anyone else's, you just have the same freeze issue in the Red Car project that i’ve experienced recently.

Have you yet tried swapping the Nvidia drivers? see my last post. I use the Geoforce Experience app, you have to log in, then you can if necessary download the latest drivers from within the drivers section and swap, choose accordingly. Use the three dots ... to select.

Grazie wrote on 7/12/2019, 4:18 AM

@Former user Sure. It takes about 3 frames and then it’s going Full Frame.

I’m waiting on the results of the meeting of the Video Chaps at the Builder to hear what verbal peregrinations have resulted in any advise. I’m loathe to move too many points of change.

Former user wrote on 7/12/2019, 4:31 AM

@Grazie The Builders have already, as I understand it, given you the latest gpu drivers, if its the Creators one that’s installed then you or they can change it to the Gamers one, which fixed the issue on my laptop and its a slightly later, more recent version.

Ok, I have voted and sent out a couple of messages soliciting help hosting the test project and results spreadsheet. Now we wait... :)

@Former user Do I have to put that file again in my dropbox or do you have it already somewhere else?

Hi @j-v, I have already a link also. I understand @Kinvermark wants to host it elsewhere, maybe Doctor Zen. In the meantime my link, see below, or anyone else here on the forum can host your download.

Thanks again to yourself and Howard.

I'll create a new thread, Benchmarking, and put a download link there for the meantime. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/benchmarking--116285/

Dr Zen wrote on 7/16/2019, 9:00 PM

Hello everyone
Kinvermark asked me a few days ago, if I was willing and able to host the Vegas standardized 4k test project.
I said I could do that - no problemo.

I can host the test on my website and create a dedicated page with permanent download links, however I am not the architect of this project. I have already told Kinvermark that someone must help me with this and write up the instructions/wording and data sheets for me.

Which ever people are in charge of this project, you need to write up exactly how you want this web page to look. Maybe create a Word document and then send it to me. I can then copy and paste this into my website.

I will then ask the leaders of this project to inspect the new web page before it does live to the world.

It is not my job to be creating Spreadsheets for this project - that is something you must do yourself.
I'm still not 100% sure of what I am expected to do, other than offer my website to host the project.

Regards
Derek

@Dr Zen @Kinvermark Hi Derek, the zip file for the project, a user data input text file, a spreadsheet and a suggested render template, FHD, are now available at the link provided. No one is really in charge of the project, it just grew out of a thread. It was Kinvermarks idea to host it elsewhere. For sure you are a great choice, superb site and source of really lovely tutorials. Since its Magix's project still, essentially, albeit a 4K version, I would think you might definitely need to get Magix's permission to host it.

That probably wouldn’t? be the case if it was just left where it is now, residing as a link on this Magix forum. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/benchmarking--116285/

Something to note ... So far there has been a relatively dismal interest in this amongst the community, ok, a lot of interest but from a very small number of users.

Dr Zen wrote on 7/17/2019, 2:32 AM

@Former user Thanks for that info JN_
I will definitely ask my contacts at Magix for full permission first, before proceeding.

Former user wrote on 7/17/2019, 2:45 AM

@Dr Zen Aok. If that fails, another option within the community would be if there was clearly a sufficient interest, which is very doubtful, to elevate the “Benchmarking” thread to the section currently marked “important posts”, or pinned somewhere that it doesn’t just sink for lack of posts.

Former user wrote on 7/17/2019, 2:54 AM

@Dr Zen @Kinvermark I don’t have permission either to be supplying a link in this forum to the project, so if you get the go ahead i’ll remove J-V's downloadable zip file from my link. If you don’t get the go ahead, and I hear nothing from Magix, or Moderators, i’m sure they watch this forum, i’ll remove the zip file anyway.

Grazie wrote on 7/19/2019, 5:08 AM

Hello Gang! So where can I download @j-v Stress Test File?

Former user wrote on 7/19/2019, 5:15 AM

@Grazie J-V's ... Alternate download link ... https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/proxy/f5df4c408b36cf42b3c7/?link=https%3A//www.dropbox.com/sh/we0paonvz9fmdce/AABTA_DgOiRFQ67kaYeoBOAra%3Fdl%3D0

Theres a user data entry form and suggested render template. Just post a screenshot of your filled out form and i’ll update the spreadsheet at the Benchmarking thread... https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/benchmarking--116285/

In the future @Dr Zen may take this all over and host, so this may be temporary here.

Grazie wrote on 7/19/2019, 5:32 AM

@Former user Thank you. Wow that was a nice and quick SMALL file D/L, tiny compared to the Red Car.

Former user wrote on 7/19/2019, 5:44 AM

@Grazie Indeed. I meant to say either use a screenshot of your results or simply enter all of your values freehand, whatever is most convenient. I think its best to add any user data to the "Benchmarking" thread.

This screenshot below also gives you some idea of what data to enter.

Well, Preview struggles from 7fps going up to 25fps, mostly running at 50%. Is this shockingly slow for my MONSTA! - ?
