How to cut a Song and end it with a reverb?

Hello everyone,

I would like to end a song in the middle to match the cut. But I don't want the song to just end, I want it to end with a reverb.  I've already tried a few things with the Reverb FX, but I can't get the song to fade out at the end with an reverb.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this in Vegas? Or is it not possible to solve this in Vegas?

In some videos (other tools such as FinalCut) it is shown that you cut the audio event and then extend it. A reverb can then be applied to the extended section.

I would be glad of any help

If you cut the recording before you wanted the note to end, which is not uncommon if it was created by midi and/or sampler, you can get the track-level Reverb fx to continue past the end by turning off loop on the audio clip and dragging the end of the clip out. Vegas doesn't have a hold-last-frame for audio clips like it does for video (would be nice) so you'll only get the reverb tail without the recorded note. You can make the reverb tail louder with a track volume or fx envelope. If you want the recorded note extended, only way I know to do it in Vegas is by copying or splitting a frame or two at the end to a new snippit of a clip, setting loop-on for that clip, turning it into a sub-clip (right click menu), and then dragging it out longer... but if you copy too many frames, you may hear any decay of the recorded note beat louder when it loops. I get best results with a sub-clip of only 1 or 2 wavelengths cut at zero-crossing points.

I do it so that on the first track I have music without an effect and on the second track I apply reverb. I cut the end of the song from the first track and move it to the second track with reverb. I lightly finish and that's it.

Better way:

if the music does not end in silence, it is better to cut the end and move it to where you need it. You have to keep the rhythm.

that's all.

1, clip onto timeline

2, cut in desired place and create subclip

3, uncheck "Loop" in its properties

4, draw the end to proper length and add a reverb/echo sfx

5, the result:

@Yelandkeil

That's what I was looking for. Thanks for the advice. I was also using the wrong Reverb FX. It works better with that. I was able to achieve a suitable result for me.

Thanks again.
