@ritsmer Yep I see that, there's other layout memory issues, Explorer doesn't remember the Details tab order, sort by File Format, Date etc. doesn't hold when switching to Thumbnails, it defaults to Name .......

VP22 starts up in the size that I want. Maybe because i have a custom Window layout?

Yes - so it worked since Vegas 3 - also in Vegas 21 - but since installation Vegas 22 always starts maximized - no matter if I start it directly or by clicking a .veg file.

I do have a custom layout.

The pics below shows how it starts and how it should start (on a 41" monitor).

If the custom layout is from vp21, you need to re-save and overwrite it in vp22 so the * near the name goes away when choosing the layout. But make sure you didn't import the vp21 layout folder location, otherwise doing that will mess up vp21 if you ever fire it up again. You can check the layout folder location in Organize Layouts.

The other possibility is that Vegas isn't getting all the way out of memory when you exit and restart Vegas. Only does that on my laptop but not on my desktops. Vegas layout changes don't save until it's fully exited and restarting too soon will ignore the change. You can check that with task manager in the details tab.

@ritsmer, I'm using Windows 11. Instead of clicking on the window's maximize/restore buttons and then resizing, try unmaximizing (restoring) by dragging the Vegas 22 window down by the Vegas window's title header, and then resize. Seems that clicking those restore/maximize buttons in Vegas 22 aren't registering properly.

@Howard-Vigorita Thank you - And yes: The layout was taken over from 21 - even so much that the "Current layout folder in 22"-link pointed to C:\Users\ritsm\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS Pro\21.0\ - and with the *. But now it works.👍

If you want to keep the layouts separated, just copy the layouts into the corresponding 22.0 folder. And then edit any paths in a saved preferences file with notepad and re-import it into vp22. That way vp21 and vp22 won't fight with each other over layouts if you were to have to use them both.
