Imported video resolution forced to change

I am using Vegas Pro 13 and I am wondering why vegas it is automatically making my imported video resolution 1024x768 when the source video is at 1920x1080. This is causing the video to be zoomed into the top corner of the video and the rest of the video will not appear even when zooming out.

What are your project settings? Make sure they are set to full HD and the framerate of your source video.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

This is what my setting are right now. In the media area it says that the resolution is 1024x768x12 even though when I check video properties it says it is 1920x1080. I record with shadowplay and it has been working with Vegas until recently and I haven't changed any of the settings.

It looks like 1024x768 video being sent in, as it is cropped to a 4:3 ratio. Also, you don't want to have your field order set to upper field first, as you are capturing progressive scan video from a video game. Set it to none. I would re-check the settings of your capture software/hardware as well as the resolution settings that the game itself is running at.

This is because of some weirdness in certain ShadowPlay files. If you open them with MediaInfo you can see that they have different "Width" and "Original width" values. The compoundplug.dll codec in Vegas Pro (and the so4compoundplug.dll codec in Vegas Pro 15) use the "Width" value. The solution is to disable compoundplug.dll so that mcmp4plug2.dll is used instead. See #7 in this thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-won-t-vegas-open-my-file-correctly-codecs-converters-etc--104572/

There was a previous case here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/video-being-cut-issue-help--109849/

What were your ShadowPlay settings? It would be nice to find a common factor such as a setting that we can advise users to avoid.

Thanks I got it to work now. I used the instant replay feature at a bit rate of 50mbps, a framerate of 60fps, and at in-game resolution. In game I played at a resolution of 1024x768. I have recorded with these settings for a long time, and the problem has only started recently.
