Hello,
I have Vegas Pro 22 Build 250 installed on my PC, and never had any problems. Today, I wanted to experiment with some of the AI effects included in Vegas Pro, but it said I needed to download and install Deep Learning Models. So, I went to the Service Center, and downloaded the Vegas Pro installation, but I downloaded the ARM64 version (don't know if that's the one I had installed before). I then installed only the deep learning models, and not Vegas because it was already installed. Then, Vegas Pro wouldn't start at all. Each time I double clicked on it, it would not pop up, start, or even be in the Windows processes. So I uninstalled everything, and installed everything again, from the ARM 64 installer. It wouldn't work either. So I uninstalled everything, downloaded the OTHER installer from the Service Center (not the ARM64 one) and installed Vegas Pro AND the Deep Learning Models. The software then started correctly, BUT, here's my problem now, I can't import any media into the timeline. MP3, WAV, AVI, MP4, ANY media imported into the timeline will make Vegas Pro crash instantly (or well, after freezing for five seconds). And my previous Vegas projects are also now unopennable because they will crash on openning.
So what I did was uninstall everything, clear register, clear leftover files, clear everything related to Magix or Vegas, restarted computer, and did a clean new install of Vegas Pro 22 only. BUT the problem was still there. After more investigating, I realised I could import medias into the project medias, but NOT on the timeline. So then I tried to insert a new video track, and it worked. And when I tried to insert a new audio track, it crashed Vegas. Sooooo the issue seems to be related to the audio track. If I import a video with no audio track, it will insert correctly into the timeline. So what the hell happened ? Why was everything working correctly and then got all messed up because of the recent installs ? :') ...
I don't know what to do, and I really need to have my existing projects working.
Hope anyone can help me while I still investigate.
Thanks !
EDIT : Okay, I think I fixed it !
So, I went to windows event viewer (typed even viewer in Windows start menu), then did the Vegas Pro crash on purpose, and went to check the logs in the events viewer. And the logs said there was a problem with a dll called 'apluginsk.dll" located in C:\Program Files (x86)\VEGAS\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio_x64\apluginsk.dll.
So, what I did was removing the dll file from the folder, and... MAGIC, now everything works :')
Hope anyone that encounters this issue will find this helpful !
