Intel driver update v30.0.100.9684

Just benched Vegas 18 with the Intel driver update listed in the Vegas driver update panel. Render speed of 4K AVC and HEVC media really slowed down. I use the onboard Intel HD630 mostly for decoding. 4K Red Car benches on my 9900k machine with Radeon VII doing VCE encoding to a 1080p frame are as follows:

v9466, 4k AVC media: 42 secs; v9684 59 secs; +42%

v9466, 4k HEVC media: 44 secs; v9684 65 secs; +47%

The decoding was still showing up in Task Manager, just not so swift. Had to use DDU to roll it back to v9466. Render times now back to normal.

Here on laptop also installed the new Intel driver with much better installation program from itself.
My comparable figures are
AVC +17%
HEVC +9%

Just ran tested the update on my Dell xps15 laptop. Same RedCar w/4K media to 1080p frame, NVENC encode with Intel decode. Hit was a little lower, but not by much:

AVC +39%

HEVC +37%

Had to use DDU again to remove the driver. Then used Dell Update which put me back to their official driver, 27.20.100.8935. Tested again and performance restored.

Btw, I should also mention that I tested with 5 different benches but only reported the 2 above with substantial slowdowns. Benches that showed very little to no impact were those that benefit the least from accelerated camera media decoding: 4K Sample Project, Original HD Red Car, and the 4K ProRes422 Red Car. Here's the full picture for my 9900k system:
