Music Production

I don't know other video platforms, Devinci, Final Cut, Premier, but it seems to me one thing Magix could do is to include music production into the video editor. For example, imagine if VST's were brought in so users could do some work without having to leave the program. Almost like including Acid into Vegas. That would be an attractive feature.

Maybe building a bridge that allows Acid and Vegas to work side by side.

Just a though.

Basically had it a decade ago with Cinescore.

It seems like you are asking for VST instrument support, as in a full DAW. Vegas currently supports a wide range of VST effects.

The integration of Vegas and Sequoia has been announced, but no release date set afaik.

Once upon a past life I used to specialize in sampling and always did that and space modeling via Cakewalk/Sonar which, unlike Vegas, also has 64-bit back end storage and double-precision math processing for audio as well as vst, vsti, nemesys-gs, vst-dx, midi-recording, and midi-editing support. But for video in recent years, I usually just mic the instruments as I shoot them being played and record with a flash recorder. If a keyboard performer is playing through a synth or a mac, I usually just mic his cab. When I really want to go back to a VSL, NI, or one of my old libs for soundtrack instruments, I usually pull up Sonar Platinum, recording midi and rendering to pcm for import into Vegas. Sonar does have rudimentary video support which I have used to import back and forth with Vegas to fine tune synth sound tracks.

I have literally mixed hundreds of songs (and documentaries) using Vegas (since the initial Sonic Foundry beta version). All of which did not need MIDI instruments and such. It does have some drawbacks, such as the lack of native side-chaining.
