Yes I agree about the software encoder/decoder in Vegas, I hope they address it in V23.

I'm hoping Vegas will add native av1 render templates for gpu hardware. I've gotten the best av1 performance and quality readings across the board transcoding with ffmpeg using Nvidia.

would they be the same as av1-nvenc render+ in happy Otter as that is what I am using now.

Yes, NVENC is NVENC only question is what commands you can pass to it.
