>>Tulip. I'm just wondering, at what resolution you are editing that feature film?<<

I am animating at 1920 x 1080 and rendering to 1280 x 720 Qts for editing in Vegas

Sync to cursor Pan/Crop is something that i've wanted for a long time (and now got) so for the minimal download fee of $135, how could i not get it. I'm sure there will be other new features that i'll start to appreciate the more i get into it.

Haven't had time to get into DVDA4 yet but i'm sure its enhancement will be worth it......

My enthusiasm might also be explained by my switching to Vegas just recently from DPS Velocity...

Welcome to the world of Vegas :-)
I'm a Velocity user as well (I have 2 at the college I work for) but I don't remember the last time I turned one on. Vegas is so much more intuitive, not to mention the audio features beat Velocity hands down. There are times I miss the real time capabilities but it's not very often these days.

...FOUR Sony theme packs including "Kinetic Tracks" & " Ideal Vacation"

That ticks me off just a bit (OK, a lot) as there's NO mention of them on the Sony site anywhere and I would've definitely preferred those two to Incredible Vistas and Pass the Ring :-(

The funny part is it says visit the Sony Media website for more details, Good Luck!

$135 for freehand envelope drawing, snap to cursor, and native HDV enhancements was a no-brainer. Not a major release but well worth the minimal investment.

Upgraded for 7 (HDV, performance improvements) and DVDA 4 (scripting). Have Cinescore already.

I really love Vegas 7 - feels great to the mouse arm. Have StackTraxx and Cinescore. As I read once before on the Forum, you can never have too much music at your finger tips and I am no musician.

Those two are "Coming Soon, Pre-Order today."
Sony sold you what they currently have available.
Sony doesn't mention what they don't have available.

I just bought the V7+DVDA boxed version (my editing computer doesn't touch the web, ever) with Cinescore option. The key to me in Cinescore is that I can layer in my own music... "CD audio extraction: Music elements can be imported and combined with Cinescore Theme music to create dynamic compositions."

Oh yes! No more going back into the studio just to get a few notes from a violin or French Horn to enhance what my artists have already done. Put a little snippet from Cinescore down, then slap the entire work from my artist into the track, and let Cinescore do its magic.

Of course, this might be too good to be true, but it is only going to cost an hour of studio time to find out if it works or not. If it doesn't work, I still have a $149 "hit-n-punch" generator. Can't lose.

I may be misunderstanding something here, but my Cinesore discs, which just arrived this morning, contain 20 themes. Although not labelled as such, I assume they are from the two theme packs, "Kinetic Tracks" & " Ideal Vacation". I also received in individual boxes, the two additional theme packs, "Incredible Vistas & Pass the Ring" included at no cost as part of the promotional bundle.

So I've received all four existing theme packs plus Cinescore for $149.95. Right?

Wow! Sounds like it. These were supposed to be not yet available. Now I'm hoping I get the same accident you did (grin).

You were supposed to receive two "theme packs".

There are a bunch of themes contained in each of the two packs.

They are enumerated at :
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/loop_libraries/showtheme.asp?spid=409 (Pass the Ring)

and: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/loop_libraries/showtheme.asp?spid=410 (Incredible Vistas)

I was told by Sony's "pre-sale" telephone representative that only "Pass the Ring" and "Incredible Vistas" would be included in the special price deal currently being offered.

Ooooo.
Maybe what I need is "The Monaco Diamond" theme pack...
oh well...
mark-woollard wrote on 9/18/2006, 9:38 AM
Cinescore typcially ships with 20 themes included. They are listed individually on their site. On that page they are not aggregated into so-called "theme packs". But given that theme packs appear to have 10 themes each, I was making an assumption that these 20 themes represented two theme packs.

Perhaps SMS could enlighten all of us.

Sounds like a topic for the Cinescore forum.

I upgraded from V6 and like the flexible layout and the snap enhancements. Didn't buy Cinescore - found the music so-so and Digital Juice StackTraxx are my fav.
MRe wrote on 9/18/2006, 11:12 AM
From V5+DVDA2 to V7+DVDA4, eventhough I did swear that I won't upgrade before Oct. 31.

Didn't buy the CC because I already own one. Would've bought it otherwise. That's for sure.
p@mast3rs wrote on 9/18/2006, 4:45 PM
I bought the upgrade. Arrived today actually. Bought the download and to my surprise, I received actual CD copies with ...get this..a shiny box and some manuals. Pinch me someone. This is too good to be true.
wolfbass wrote on 9/18/2006, 9:50 PM
Yep, but not cinescore.

What is cinescore?

Using DVDA4 but not Vegas 7 yet. Maybe when I finish all my current V6 Projects.

I am definitely holding off on this upgrade. Actually I am thrilled. I have no money right now but it doesnt hurt because there is nothing really exciting about this upgrade. So I can painlessly wait. I will eventually get around to it but it might even be worth waiting until Version 8.

How is everyone getting an upgrade price of $135???

I never received any upgrade email, and when I attempt to do the upgrade through the Sony web site the upgrade cost is $234.95!! This is from Vegas 6 & DVDA to Vegas 7& DVDA. I also own Vegas 5 & DVDA and upgraded to v6 last summer.

NM I found the information further down in a few posts.
