NewBlue Titler products on VP14

Virtually every crash that I have had with each version of Vegas Pro that I have owned has been related to NewBlue's Titler software. It doesn't even matter if I am currently editing a title. In fact, the crashes have gotten so bad that I save after every single edit. What bothers me is that we are being asked to once again pay for an upgrade in the hope that it will be better than the one we currently own. Yet, each time this exact same problem crops up.

Again, I will say that even with that I would be willing to pay as much as $199 for the Studio version just to get the new features. I can't justify going higher than that with all of the reports of these ongoing problems.

After the NewBlue support no longer responds, I researched myself.
To create the complete libraries in the updates you have to copy the old folders from the original 160824

  • Lower 3rds
  • Main Titles
  • Motion Bugs

to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Titler Content\Resources\Library\Project Templates

Hi Quitter, I have always had them in the folder you show above even with 160926. However they do not appear in the Project Library window. If I right click in the Project Library window and select "Open Containing Folder" they are there however they do not show in the Project Library window... it is as if they are not "registered".

And within VP14 I can not add them successfully as a title or lower 3rd.

My trial of VP14 is not allowing my NBTP 3 to work at all. What is up with this. I never had to disable anything for any program to work on this computer. Just the kind of thing that will keep me from upgrading and walking into trouble.

Me too, but there is something wrong.
This is how it looks after i changed them with the old ones:

  1. Deinstall 160926
  2. install 160824
  3. go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Titler Content\Resources\Library\Project Templates
  4. copy the folders: Lower 3rds, Main Titles and Motion Bugs
  5. update to 160926
  6. go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Titler Content\Resources\Library\Project Templates
  7. paste the folders

Note: this dosn't fix the script problem

Thanks Quitter, your instructions worked great, I have all the templates.

I have had no problems with script problems. My only issue was with the Titler crashing on startup. NewBlueFx support told me to delete OFXBridgeB64.dll from C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Common and then it worked fine.

Thanks again.

thanks quitter, works here too. I had already tried a similar trick but it didnt work. The difference is this time I  didnt run the 160824 before installing the 160926.

I own Vegas Pro 14 which comes with Titler Pro Express but yet...it doesn't!  The good news is that I can finally get Titler Pro Express to open in Vegas Pro 14 without crashing!  I did this by deleting the OFXBridgeB64.dll file as described in above posts.   However, now it is asking for serial number or activation because I have a red x on all of the outputs.  I did confirm that I have version 160926 installed.  Am I missing something here?

Thanks, Erik

Is there anyone successfully using Titler Pro 4 with VP14?

I have tried several beta versions supplied by NewBlue support, but they all have the same problem.   They start in Quick Edit mode and I can't find a way to get to the title designer.  The only change I am allowed to make is to select a preset template and change the text.  I can't even adjust colors or anything.

Am I the only one seeing this issue?  (I've used 160928 and 161027)   I don't have links to any other versions.

Quitter wrote on 11/9/2016, 3:45 PM

Is NewBlue still working to resolve the problems?
The script problem still remains

My request was closed from NewBlue as "Solved"  after i told them how to reload the libaries

You need to remove the included Title Express from Vegas Pro 14.

I do not have the Pro Express product installed.  I removed all NewBlue products and installed VP14 without Pro Express component and then installed the TP4 versions.  My new blue account manager shows the express component as not installed.  Is there some special procedure when you say 'remove Titler Express' other than the normal uninstall process.

set wrote on 11/9/2016, 5:08 PM

If that's the case, do you have access to more previous versions?

I have tried 160928 previously and it broke my TP4 as you describe it. And it seems the newer 161027 haven't been able to fix this. I had to go back to previous build. (Win OS System Restore)

No, i see mention of  a 160926, but I don't have a link to that version.  It wasn't clear to me that others had or were seeing the same issue I see.   Does the 'Express' version not have the title designer window?

I've just read all 139 posts on this thread hoping to see a solution to my problem but there is so much stuff on here with links etc I'm not sure if there is an answer or not so here is my question.

I was running VP13 and TP4 together and it worked fine.  I "upgraded" to VP14 before I read all this (how dumb was that!) and found out the hard way that there was a problem using TP4 with VP14.  I have uninstalled VP14 and everything that's got New Blue in its name, uninstalled and loaded VP13 and TP4.  BUT.... when I make a title I can't close the Titler window and get back to the timeline.  The only way I can  achieve this is by using the windows Task Manager.

Is there anything else that I can do?

I really hope so as I only bought TP4 when it became apparent that I could no longer use the NB Titler that came bundled with VP12.  (I went for the "Buy VP13 and get a free upgrade to VP14" offer so I've burned cash on VP13/14 and TP4 and still don't have an editor/titler combination that works.  I was perfectly happy with VP12 but that's history I guess.

I have my fingers crossed one of you guys can help.

Thanks

Got this email from NewBlue FX and tried it... still testing but seems to be working and is better then what I had.  Contact Caleb over at NBFX for the link.

Thanks Skyml.  I'm not sure now whether to try the VP14 route using the link above or see if I can VP13 wotking with TP4.  Do you have a view on that?

Former user wrote on 11/11/2016, 10:21 AM

I have VP13 and TP 4.  Works great.  Also have VP 14.  VP 14 just doesn't work, AT ALL.  It lods, but that's it.  I click anywhere and it crashes.

Yes VidGuy I used to have VP13 and TP4 working great but since VP14 came along nothing works so I'm looking for help on how I could get them back in harmony again.  I've uninstalled VP14 and TP4 and reinstalled TP4 but VP13 now crashes on exiting TP4

Former user wrote on 11/11/2016, 4:29 PM

Wovian, I did the same thing. I know this is scary  you might want to try cleaning out the registry of all the VP 14 remnants. I use a program called C cleaner. It's freeware. It will scan your registry and pick out the stuff that VP 14 during the uninstall. It seemed to work for me.
Hope this helps.

Wovian wrote on 11/12/2016, 2:35 AM

Thanks VidGuy, Ive been thinking about the registry overnight and as you say that scares me a bit as the PC is only a few days old.  We reallly shouldn't be needing to have this conversation after buying an"upgrade" to a program that was working should we!
