NewBlue Titler products on VP14

Thanks for your comments...I'm getting in touch with NewBlue to sort out the problem and see if I can finally have great titles on my projects! I'll keep you posted.

I have used the NewBlue Titler since it's first bundle with Vegas Pro. I have updated both Vegas & NewBlue Titler as each release comes out. While there have been issues, as documented here, I have always found the NewBlue support team to be responsive and helpful and each issue has been resolve.

I use NewBlue Titler 5 Ultimate now, and I use it almost every day with each project. Sometimes, an animated title, others a still title. The still title option is very fast and gives you all the features of an animated title (minus the motion) so it's a great go to.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Can anyone confirm if NewBlue Titler Pro Express - OpenFX, build 160926, that came with VP 14, is the latest build? is it equivalent to say TP 3?.

That is Titler 3 from 2013/2014. The latest build is Titler Pro 5 Build 170103 (Reached in the mid of April)

I have vegas pro 13 (build 453) and newblue titler 5 pro (build 170503). previously i had versions 2, 3 and 4. when titler pro 5 was first installed i had awful problems getting it to work. i finally got it fixed but then there was an upgrade and it recreated the problem- in both cases the standalone did not work and vegas crashed all the time when titler pro was used in it. the same solution worked both times and both the standalone and embedded verson work great the fix.. i had found this a while ago on one of these forums and it worked perfectly for me. here it is: in c:\program files\newblueFX\common delete OFXBridgeB64.dll that's all that was required to get the program to work.. This is why i have not proceeded with vegas pro 14- i am afraid there might be a similar problem that is equally as unobvious to figure out.

jetdv wrote on 8/12/2017, 3:39 PM

Stu, Titler Pro 5 does work fine in Vegas Pro 14. It is possible that the OFXBridgeB64.dll file may still need to be removed in your case, though. It is not true in all cases. Only some machines require that.

jetdv wrote on 8/12/2017, 3:51 PM

AVSupport, there is no "Titler 5 Express". There is Titler Pro Express in the Vegas Pro Complete bundle and it is working properly in Vegas Pro 14. If you are having specific issues, please do contact NewBlue support so any issues can be resolved.

AVsupport wrote on 8/12/2017, 5:40 PM

@jetdv, I realize there's no Titler 5 Express. /Yesterday I was dishartened after hours of trying to make the Express Pro bundle working which I downloaded from the newbluefx website here: https://newbluefx.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000817403-Magix-Sony-VEGAS

Turns out this installs Vegas Pro Complete 3.0.160926, which doesn't work..

I now installed your 161118 from the link above (I can't find this on the newbluefx website anywhere..???) and so far, it seems to be working indeed! (not sure about transitions though, all empty, is that normal or restriction??)

Transitions should be empty in Titler Pro Express. Titler Pro Express only allows choosing a template and changing the text.

AVsupport wrote on 8/14/2017, 6:27 PM

yes @jetdv they are, however interestingly enough I was able to copy transitions from a template to another new title..does that mean one should perhaps be able to re-create those one's 'lost in translation' save them, copy into a directory?? any suggestions to make this more useable?

jetdv wrote on 8/15/2017, 8:57 AM

With Express, there should be no design capabilities. Only the ability to choose a template and then adjust the wording of the text. Some may allow choosing a color or image as well. The ability to copy a transition should not be there and there is no ability to save to templates in Express.

AVsupport wrote on 8/15/2017, 4:08 PM

Thanks @jetdv , Would you happen to know off chance, if you were to purchase a 'template pack', would you further gain some functionality or just templates..?

You will gain the ability to use those new templates. No more abilities other than you can now use those new templates. "Express" is not made to be a title "designer". To design a title, you would need Titler Pro 3 (comes with Vegas Pro 14 Suite) or Titler Pro 5 (the current version available at newbluefx.com).

AVsupport wrote on 8/15/2017, 4:50 PM

Thanks @jetdv that clears that up,

with the upcoming VP15 release, what NBTiler version are you guys planning to package? As a Non-Suite owner, am I better off to upgrade to the Suite or wait for 15 to get some title designer functionality? /edit: Am I able to 'Crossgrade' to VP14 Suite utilizing the current -40% promo? If so, how much would that be and how could I do this?

I do not know what will be bundled with 15. I have not yet heard anything related to this. I cannot answer your upgrade questions - you would have to ask Magix about that.

Finally got round to installing VP12v270.  Seems stable, just need to set up ac3pro and good to go.

Any one noticed the NBTP4 shows as NBTP5 in Vegas but as NBTP4 in 'programs & features.'

Similar thing happens in  Grass Valley Edius 8.

Otherwise NBPT4 seems stable and so far now crashes.

so, advice was: wait for the new release which should be out in a few weeks. There ain't any 'crossgrades', and if you were to purchase an upgrade now, you'd have to purchase another down the track. I'm staying put.
