OpenCL

Hello Fellow editors :)

Problem: i tried to use Smart Upscale Plug-in in VEGAS Pro 17 but it required me OpenCL.
i don't exactly recognize what OpenCL is, but based on Google Results; it's a Programming tool just like OpenGL

I have Windows 10 and i'm not quite sure if this OpenCL Needs a Powerful machine(Nvidia Card?), since i don't have a High-end Machine, i think i cannot use it, but let me know if i can just Install it
THANKS <3

What is your CPU and GPU? Perhaps you are missing some drivers that come with one or both.

It might be to do with the OpenVIno acceleration available to 6th gen+ Intel CPU's. If you had an older CPU it wouldn't work, however there must be a fall back because I can use the Vegas AI fx on an AMD CPU and that fallback must surely be available to older Intel CPU's. The only limitation should be the speed of processing, with it being much slower on AMD and incompatible Intel CPU.

Based on these guesses I"m not sure what your problem is.

If you get the free gpu-z utility from TechPowerUp, you can verify which api's your graphics driver implements. My Nvidia driver shows both cuda and opencl.

Current Intel and Amd drivers leave out cuda but should have opencl. Older Intel and Nvidia drivers were leaving out opencl for a while so you might need a driver update if its box is unchecked.
