You have placed it in all three locations already?

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions

C:\Users\username\Documents\Vegas Application Extensions

C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions

Yes on all three locations

Correct, PC and TV are already in it. "Original" actually disables the FX. So if you preview on a PC monitor, use "PC" and make sure you haven't enabled this

These are my scopes settings

Edit: I would also try and download the SeMW extension one more time, unlock it and then install it.

Ok - I had ticked the Adjust levels from studio RGB to computer RGB and the second box for the scopes was ticked - I have since unticked both - So when applying the "PC" levels setting - do I need to disable that before rendering out an h264 via Vegas2Handbrake?

I found a couple of SeMW related entries in the Windows Registry that may have been blocked is the installer was blocked...just throwing ideas on the table... getting late here.

So I started digging around in the Registry - I found this entry and confirmed this is where the SeMW DLL's are located: "C:/ProgramData/Sony/Vegas Pro/Application Extensions/Semw.Extensions.dll"

Notice it says SONY for part of the path... What do you think @OldSMoke? SHould I make a hard registry entry change to reflect a new path?

OldSmoke wrote on 2/20/2017, 11:16 PM

You can always change it back and it's not an entry that affects the OS.

OldSmoke, I just downloaded SeMW from the link you provided and Norton removed it saying it was unsafe.

Cliff Etzel wrote on 2/21/2017, 10:39 AM

I just received an email from the SeMW developer Michael Wörner and he sent the following email:

Hello Cliff,

thanks for your report. I installed build 545 and don't see the Extensions either. They're compatible with the Sony variant of Vegas 13 and the MAGIX variant of Vegas 14, so I suppose either build 545 is a variant of its own or it picks up the wrong version of the Extensions and then fails to load them.

I'll look into this and get back to you once I found out what exactly the problem is.

Regards,
Michael Wörner

So it seems this is a new issue to be addressed - Thought I was losing my mind trying to get this to work

SeMW work on both of my SONY Version VP13 and Magix VP14, no issue, I did the standard installation. I really don't know why your are not showing up in VP13 but show up in VP14.

I installed the trial of VP14 last night and can confirm SeMW does show up - but it doesn't in the Magix rebranded VP13 build 545. The developer has confirmed the same thing for him (I did a fresh install of the last version of VP13 since I haven't upgraded yet due to my laptop having issues).

BruceUSA wrote on 2/21/2017, 11:27 AM

Cliff. In the mean time, uninstall Magix VP13. Install the SONY version VP13 that way you get the SeMW extention working. There really nothing new in Magix 545 build, other then the rebrand.

Actually gave that a shot last night - Didn't make a difference :-(

If you made the roll-back to VP13 build 453, I guess you also will have to install SeMW Extensions once anew. Them are working fine for me in build 453 and the DLL files it installs are located in

C:\ProgramData\Sony\Vegas Pro\Application Extensions\

I only have build 428 as the last SONY branded version - any idea where I can get build 453?

Marco. wrote on 2/21/2017, 11:50 AM

I can still access last SCS version of VP13 on the SCS website under "My Account/My Software". Though SeMW Extensions should work fine with build 428, too.

So far no such luck... Will keep trying - although my patience is running a little thin considering the amount of time I've spent trying to get this to work. IT's been one of the biggest reasons I've stuck with PPro CS6 for so long.

Cliff Etzel wrote on 2/21/2017, 12:39 PM

No matter what version of Vegas Pro 13, the SeMW extension fails to show for me - I'm back to VP13 build 545 and will wait to hear back from the developer on getting this extension to work. I have this suspicion that it's an oddball permissions thing on my laptop but have no idea how to correct it.

Cliff Etzel wrote on 2/21/2017, 1:00 PM

Given I need to edit 2 projects this week, Wanted to follow up on this thread with what settings I should make when rendering with the Vegas2Handbrake script.

Should I leave the levels FX activated before rendering or do I need to disable it? This is where I get confused in the post process with Vegas and why I've been trying to get the SeMW extension up and running with Vegas Pro 13.

Coming from PPro CS6 to Vegas is not without it's learning curve for me but given that Adobe Media Encoder CS6 is no longer working correctly for me, it's time I find another solution and want to do this right considering I don't have time to do a bunch of trial and error renders.

I appreciate those who have endured my past rants and questions in getting up to speed with Vegas Pro.
